DFK,

The Spec ops might be perfect for you then. 2 people right on the couch going through couple dozen spec ops missions.

I haven't tried any of them yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to them.

Well you may at least enjoy the spec ops. They remind me of VR Missions from Metal Gear Solid.

Ex: one from the first batch is a "Defend yourself from X amount of waves" mission, and then they put you on a roof with c4 and a sniper rifle.

Oh sweet, they added same-room multiplayer? That was my hugest beef with the last one.

Phat!

Only in Spec Ops. We found it to be guilty of Huge Win, though.

The first stealth spec-ops mission is really fun.

Since I can't play with somebody sitting in the same room as me, it's a garbage option.

Hence, I rent.

Are you sure that you can't? I don't know about MW2, but I played Halo wars with a friend using the direct connection option. Had to use two TVs, but it was still pretty cool.

But I guess your comment means that there is no split screen option...that kinda sucks.

See, to me that's still no good. I'm not buying another TV, or having me friend bring over their TV, just so we can play a shooter together. I know it might work for some peeps, not for DFK!.

Exactly.

The more I play the multiplayer the more I love it. The depth of customization is incredible.

The feeling of being rewarded for doing various tasks is also a big bonus. In CoD 4, if a helicopter was called in, most of your team huddled in a building like cowards. If you marched out there to try & gun it down you got nothing for it but the satisfaction of getting it out of your hair. Shooting it down now grants a pretty hefty sum of experience plus builds towards call signs & challenges.

Very much loving this game. My only real complaint is the removal of Xbox Live Party's from all but 4 or 5 game types.

There -is- a split screen multiplayer option. It's mostly co-op, though.

Sweet.

The local stores are out of it though (no surprise). Have to wait a while I suppose.

I appear to be terrifying with a very odd primary.

The Riot Shield.

Love it so far. I've got to get my broadband connection going again.

A good riot shield user paired up with some one with an assault rifle can be devastating.

Though I will admit, to enjoying to send my predator missiles after riot shield users.

If I'm getting Predators sent after me with no one else around, I'm doing something right, I figure. :)

I've heard talk that if some one has an EMP kill streak, and some one calls in a nuke, if the EMP is activated within the 10 second countdown to the nuke, it'll stop the nuke. Anyone seen anything like that?

I'm also trying to figure out what the reward(s) are for prestiging so I can figure out if I'll rank up again. Though I have a ways to go.

Lol, Raltar. Somebody needs to explain what boycott means.

Yay for Mosh Pit! One of my biggest frustrations was having to do the same game type over and over in a playlist.

Played the single player a bit over at my brother's house the other night. I was quite impressed. Too bad the real draw is multiplayer and the lack of parties makes me hate the game.

Actually Raltar, there's some workaround if you'd like.

Certain play-lists DO allow for Xbox parties. One of them being Ground Wars. GW's are 9v9 instead of 6v6. Due to how large many of the maps are, it makes 9v9 feel absolutely perfect for the size of the game. Tending to lead to more action and a much more target rich environment. 6v6 on some of these maps without actual objectives(TDM for example) seem to be much slower paced. GW's itself rotates between domination objective matches & standard team death match.

If using other playlists that do not allow the beloved party system, you can still use a direct private chat with one person if you'd like. This has been Divinity & I's solution thus far.

You can squad up inside the game too, and I don't think you hear stuff outside the squad.

I was amused at how a friend described the way I play to someone else: "He doesn't get too many kills, but the skies are always clear. He even takes out UAVs."

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. I haven't played offline or spec ops yet, though. I love the customization. The titles and emblems are fun to collect for some reason.
For the first time in the history of humanity, a high speed internet company finally decided to expand into my area to offer DSL. It was perfect timing for MW2. This is actually my first post on these forums due to the fact that I didn't have internet for a while. Needless to say, I'm extremely excited and happy now with high speed and MW2.

I enjoyed the game a lot. However, I have two words: too short.

Sorry, I just don't go for games that want to charge $60 for 5 hours of play. No thanks. It was a good rental though.

Assassin's Creed 2, otoh, is shaping up to be ****.

Same. Holy crap it was amazing.

As for the 5 hour discussion, sure it was 5 hours, but it was an AMAZING 5 hours. As well, with the special ops (on and offline co-op) and other multiplayer modes, it's infinitely replayable (not to mention DLC). I will take a truly incredible 5 hour singleplayer (with the option to replay at hardened and veteran difficulty levels) over a 15-20 hour repetitive story mode any day of the week. And I sincerely doubt you're getting through veteran in 5 hours. :)
