If I sold it all now, I would lose $500.....if I bought now instead of before, I would have about 3-4 times the amount of SC as I do now.

https://solidcoin24.com/p/main/start.htm is the main "trusted" exchange for now, btc-e seems scammy. I've had successful transactions with them, but I think they're partnered with that RU Coin....and they have a ridiculous amount of new currencies for trade, it's like they don't care if certain coins are pump and dump schemes or trying to be legitimate currencies, or maybe they support the scams?

Maybe SC is a scam? It is possible, but I don't think so. The dev is kind of a dick and acts unprofessional and doesn't stick to deadlines, but he's a coder, not a businessman. I've talked to him, he seems legit...or at least I'm hoping so.

Only time (and the source release) will tell for 100% certain.


One thing is for certain, I will no longer be outright buying *coins, rather I will mine them early on and cash them in for BTC and then USD. I think that is the way to go for most of these coins. Hopefully SolidCoin is different and eventually replaces Bitcoin or at least coexists and becomes popular. I will also be learning C++.....ya know?

In retrospect, I got pretty lucky when I bought Bitcoins, I could've easily lost a few hundred on that.

That's how it goes, though.


After talking with RealSolid, though, it's clear that he'll be profiting the most from this (and has already...why do you think there are so many SolidCoins for sale? It's not just him, though...a few hundred early adopters/miners. This is why I think he is legit. He has more to gain from being legit, and why would 6+ months of programming work be all for a scam. Usually scams are scams because they're easy.) Don't let me jinx it...

i think cryptocurrencies have uses, but not in their current iterations...


clearly services like Dwolla are kick *** for online money transfers. I would not get into cryptocurrencies unless you like the anonymity and possibility that it could be a store of value, but right now they are largely a speculative vehicle for people with lots of computers or a bit of money.

I think bitcoin could be useful for a company as a way of paying out bonuses...without having to f*ck with the IRS--or even as a way to dole out commission or a kind of employee achievement recognition / reward type of thing. (meaning the company will run their own proprietary totally seperate version of *coin, for internal use only)

No idea. I ended up switching to Coinotron because I was getting coins way faster for some reason.

Then, I stopped mining all together.

Good news. Bitcoin price is dropping, and SolidCoin price is rising. Looks like a big player or a few people are jumping ship lately, or it's just being pumped. I'm guessing a little of both. As long as buying volume continues to increase it's looking good. There aren't many sellers at the lower price points, and those 2 factors are pushing the prices higher. Of course it's so low volume that none of that means sh*t, but I'd say it is looking good from here on out. We'll see where it's at in a few weeks.

Though, I do love the concept and still use them to play poker.


There are a handful of young computer geeks out there living the Bitcoin dream right now, they probably have their own island, helicopters, the works.

There should be a similar coin run by banks (or a trusted 3rd party) that trades at a constant flat rate 1 coin = 1 dollar.

Think Dwolla, but with anonymity. That would be great.

Sold my SC. Cut my losses.


Time to get out of this.

Volume is so low and even though it's the only altcoin that hasn't failed yet, it just isn't moving like I thought it would.

Me selling SC caused the price to drop from .008 to .005.---that is how illiquid SC is. Then again, I did have like 11,000.

It'll probably bounce back up and go up to almost .02 again, maybe higher, but then I expect it to fade.

Going to trade bitcoin between 2.5 and 3.2 or so--much more liquid.



Should be fun.
