One of the worst second halves of Chargers football I've ever seen.

Damn it, Stafford. You may have cost the Fairies a 7-0 sweep. :(

Maurice, you have a lot of points to make up for. Go do it!

Stafford has been running for his life the last two weeks. His O' line needs to step up or the Lions are going to be doomed.

Yeah, I've noticed that. Here's hoping.

Dear Detroit,

Why did you have to win so hard over the Broncos? I do appreciate the points from Stafford, Johnson, and Hanson. However, didn't you get the memo I am playing a man who has your team as his defense? Those 38 points you gave him for a defensive team really hurt. In fact, we will likely lose thanks to you.

Would it have killed you to let Denver get 4 touchdowns?

Love,
Numbuk

That was a strange game last night. That fumble at the end of regulation was just bizarro ball...

Seriously. Leave it to the Chargers to give away wins. Such an INFURIATING game, every quarter of it.

That fumble at a clutch moment was very Romoesque.

Eh, officiating cost New England their game last week, too ...

The Seahawks had a game winning touchdown punt return called back by a bad call too...

The officiating hasn't been all that brutal for Buffalo this year. Over all, my only complaint has involved rules changes, and the wildly swinging interpretations of them by the officials. ie. the rules change that led to an instant replay of every single scoring play led to almost every single play around the goalline being ruled a touchdown, and then reviewed; which after four weeks was almost completely reversed by the league office, leading to fewer TD calls than usual on contraversial plays.

The call Khross is speaking of was due to this.

New England had to throw 9 more downs at that TD.

Yup. The new rule on reviewed scoring plays, and how the league wants in interpreted has wreacked havoc on quality officiating. During the first four weeks of the season, it led to an inordinate number of touchdown calls, many of which were ovbiously not scoring plays, all of which were reviewed with many being over-turned. The league then informed the ref's that they didn't intend this to be used liberally, and there was an immediate clawback, with many actual scores not being reviewed after being ruled on incorrectly on the field.

The reason that New England lost that game, however, was coaching; not officiating.

I mean, I get the maxim, "Don't put yourself in a position where officiating can lose you the game"

But this year its just been terrible. For example, I saw a play where Ryan Clark launched into the head of a Patriot receiver, and no flag was thrown... I mean, come on refs.

I dunno, I'm beginning to think the officials need some serious new recruits. This is two weeks in a row a bad call has cost the Patriots a game.

Which call are you talking about? Certainly not either pass interference call. Those were both spot on. And again, the Pats lost because they didn't play well, save one late drive in the 4th quarter.
