Please explain to me how I am supposed to enter my report card grades into the system by 3:00, when the freaking system does not work? :x

Step 1: Fix the system yourself by 2:00.
Step 2: Enter your grades.
Step 3: Profit!

What, this doesn't sound reasonable?

I guess I should have taught my son that Santa Claus says "Ho Ho Ho" before I told him that the Green Giant also says this.

That switch from Eb to Ab to Bb7 and back again repeatedly is killing my hand.

Clearly, the next lesson needs to be about the different between bass and tenor or baritone.

I don't think I've ever heard a Santa "Ho ho ho" nearly as low as the Green Giant does.

:D Funny part is I could. Don't have admin rights because I am a lowly teacher. Very sad though, I feel bad for our tech people. They really don't know what they are doing and Foamy can vouche for it. Credentials aren't high here for running the network. When they sent a flyer out with all our salaries out to the public during the contract year it also included the admins and our leading district coordinator for technology makes only $50,000 but has worked here 15 years. The other girl working, as her side person, only makes 35,000 and has been here 20 years. No self- respecting tech person wants to work in our district because of the crap pay. Regular day to day tech people in the buildings only make $9.00 an hour. That is so sad. Our district is so far behind in technology that people like me are the ones introducing the new ideas to the district that they can't go out and get them on their own.

No, no it's not. There is an F in there as well, but that's not the problem, an F is easy. And since when have you played "Coal Miners Daughter" on your guitar??

Are you playing these as open chords? If not, tune the guitar down a half step and play them all as open chords. Granted a B7 is a pain in the ***, though.

It's still wrong.

I IV V7 doesn't resolve right. And if you play the chords in sequence, it won't sound right. There's some weird tonal considerations there.

I IV V V7 I is your standard chording, even if the V7 doesn't have its own downbeat. In fact, V7 should be a modulation from V into the resolution. Basic music theory and all that.

I have a feeling if I could see the sheet music for Coal Miner's Daughter, that the actual chord progression is I IV V V7 I. I'd just have to see how the harmony was syncopated.

I really wish I had taken some music theory classes.

Doesn't help, but thanks, Mookhow. I tend to forget that most guitarists don't read sheet music.

At any rate, the point of my random thought was to complain about how hard those chords are for me to play, not to have my random thought dissected by Mr. Know-it-all.

I have been playing for many years, and I have yet to master the C-form bar chords.

It's tough...I'm supposed to have this ready by tomorrow for a short show and then on Saturday night for the big show, and I just don't know that I can make the chord transitions in time with the music.

I'm not dissecting your thought; my random thought was lamenting the invention of guitar tablature and its result on music theory. Silly LK ...

The song was originally keyed F major, why are you working in D major?

Because that is all I could find. Do you have the chords for it in F? (Yes, Khross, I suck at music theory....)

I don't. The sheet music site I linked above only provides the first page as a preview.

However, D major is:
D E F# G A B C#
While F major is:
F G A Bb C D E
So in order to transpose what you've got just raise all the chords by two steps. I don't know if that remains entirely true to the original score, however. Sevenths seem to get thrown in oddly either way.

It may also be (and the reason the commonly available chord progressions are in D major) that the fingerings get easier if you drop D tune your guitar.
