Saw this yesterday - If you go back in time using the timeline or whatever, you can see that they been there (and expanded) at least since 2005 or so. Fun stuff.

What weirds me out is that this exact thing was discovered and discussed in a SA thread about Google Maps probably about two years ago. Goons couldn't figure it out, either, but I'm surprised this has just now suddenly garnered (inter?)national news attention.

An idea I've seen was a calibration device for spy satellites. Seems reasonable. The one with all the rectangles reminds me of a digital antenna.

You all should concern yourself more with Iran's nuclear program and supporting Israel. Questions about China might become uncomfortable, and we don't want that.

Clearly, we should launch new spy satellites to spy on the Chinese spy satellites to see if they're looking at these patterns and calibrating.
