This is another one of the reasons why I favor almost everybody living in a city with public transportation. Maybe nobody cares but me, but it would prevent tens of thousands of deaths per year.

It's a wonder there's anybody left alive in cities at all! Look at all the blue dots! Even the pedestrians are dying in droves!
