Don't feel too bad. My case and cooling system weren't even available at the warehouse yet and they're estimated to get there on the 25th. The original estimated ship date was the 23rd and I only paid for UPS ground.

I'm already over a week behind everyone on Skyrim as it is. By the time I can play, everyone else will have lost interest in talking about it.

The experience of using a MacBook Air is far greater than other laptops, and $1000 is not even that much. Would you want to use a laptop from say, 2007? A laptop is not just a laptop.

I am using a laptop from 2007, or at the lastest, early 2008. You still have a screen of a certain size, a keyboard of a certain size, and if you're not sitting at a table you still have to use the little touchpad thingy or some other inferior control arrangement.

A laptop is a laptop. There is no way any amount of OS bells and whistles or other improvements are going to overcome the basic limits of the space and weight budgets and how much can be done with the ergonomics. Those are what make a laptop experience a laptop experience, and not a desktop. The only way around that is to plug in a real mouse, a real keyboard, and a real monitor and make your laptop into a desktop.

I don't feel like debating anymore, but I've used several laptops and far more prefer the MacBook Air, and think it was worth the cost.

A few reasons.

1. I've been wanting to try Mac OS
2. I've wanted a laptop for quite some time
3. I've wanted to try SSDs for quite some time
4. I want to get a kindle. The Macbook air is small enough and has instant on, so I won't need a Kindle.
5. I got rid of my cellphone, and I'll be able to video chat on skype with the Macbook air. Again, the small size is a benefit here.
6. I just wanted one, okay? In my mind, it's killing 5 birds with 1 stone. I know they're more expensive, but I don't need this thing to be a powerhouse, and I've wanted to try a Mac for a long time now.
