My new car came with 6 months of free satellite radio.


I seem to have eventually settled on "80's on 8" as my default station. (60's on 6 is close behind.) It's giving me frequent urges to post random 80's lyrics on the Internet.

80s on 8 and 90s on 9 are what I listen to. When my iPad is dead, at least.

What's scarier are the occasional Elmo-like urges to buy a gun and shoot someone.

(Interestingly, those urges coincide with the frequency with which 8 plays "Culture Club.")

The only song that I got a kick out of listening non-stop was Louie Louie by The Kingsmen. As a stunt to get more ratings/revenue/whatever an oldie's station played the song for about 5 days straight back when I was in high school. It seemed to get funnier with each successive time I heard it. I still smile when I hear the song play.

As much as I dislike Culture Club, I think Wang Chung is the only band that makes me want to shoot things.

Mondays and Friday afternoons are 80s on 8 days at work. Martha Quinn could stand to get some new trivia, but otherwise I am a big fan!

I have subsequently made a 66 track playlist on YouTube to bring the 80s goodness to home... though technically 2 or 3 of those songs are from the late 70s. :p

They need to get the guy that does BackTrax USA. I used to listen to that all the time driving back to school in 2002-2004...
