You underestimate how much of the work the virus does for you. All you have to do is let it go to work unfettered.

The chances are your virus will be much less effective than you (unrealistically) expected due to tons of different variables, especially on your first attempt. It would be like writing a 100,000 line computer program and expecting it to do what you want the first time you run it.

Not quite, virus are extremely adaptable little machines. This is kinda why we can't kill them or vaccinate against them very efficiently (un-like bacterials).

Humans have evolved as virus have and learnt to destroy them. If however we meet a new strain of flu today, not related to any virus the humans have previously been exposed to, the result would be devestating.

It would be doublely so, if it's a fast mutation virus, meaning we can't keep up making a vaccine.

It's possible, but I don't think it's feasible without extensive human testing, which no researchers on this planet would get away with.

Thats why you use animal models which corrolate closely with humans. Its actually quite simple to make something deadly, in science.

A virus is much more complex than a chemical compound.

You can't realistically make a virus that kills billions without doing any human trials first... but I'm going to stop repeating myself now.

Hell yes, it would be. Can you immagine what a utopia you could create if you were able to do away with corrupt politicians, financers, warlords, terrorists, ect. all over the globe in a matter of months?

I know you're joking, so I'll let it go.

Still, can you imagine if that scenario arose and for some reason you had to choose 50% of the population to die?

Wouldn't be that hard really

Death list questionnaire:
1) Have you ever been on a reality tv show?
2) Have you ever wanted to be on a reality tv show?
3) Have you ever worked on creating or filming a reality tv show?
4) Are you a politician?
5) Have you ever been a politician?
6) Have you ever wanted to be a politician?

That right there would would be a great start.

Then I grew up and started buying stuff.

There are some who believe that buying stuff helps the economy, which more others believe makes the world a better place.
