I was browsing Wikipedia, and noticed this.

It's funny how the French regard that entire part as "Mississippi".

Heh, well, it's an ornithology term - the Mississippi Flyway. What they're saying is that that whole thing is the Mississippi Flyway, and there's very little mixing between, say, the MS Flyway and the Pacific, for example.

Yeah I see now it is in English too... but they should still rename it especially since some birds will never be anywhere near the Mississippi. It would be like calling Poland part of Spain.

Since both are close to the Mississippi (apparently), its pretty likely.

Well, to be fair, most of that (south of the Great Lakes, at least) IS the Mississippi River Basin.

What surprises me more, actually, is that very northerly birds (in, say, the area of Washington State) actually *do*, evidently, cross the Great Divide.
