Jeff Loria spending money is good for baseball. With that said, if you look at the way the contracts are structured, they are incredibly back-loaded. My thoughts are that Loria, after sticking tax-payers with the bill for a new stadium, is trying to make a huge early revenues push and trying to buy a championship caliber team. After two-three years of strong earnings and competitive success he plans on dumping the team, selling high, and turning a tidy profit for himself; while sticking the new owners with a team riddled with bloated contracts (escapable via the lack of NTCs) in a Florida market which is notorious for diminishing fan support.
