Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle, the quiet jungle
The lion sleeps tonight

Ee-e-e-um-um-a-weh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh
Ee-e-e-um-um-a-weh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh
Wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh, wemoweh

Near the village, the peaceful village
The lion sleeps tonight
Near the village, the quiet village
The lion sleeps tonight... etc.

I love this song. I think it's because of associated memory. I was about 4 or 5 years old and my parents were watching the Gong Show. One of the acts was a man dressed in a safari outfit came out with a monkey puppet. He began lip syncing this song and his monkey did the wee-ma-way's.

I am pretty sure he got gonged. But I thought it was great!

I've tried to find a clip of that over the years, but to no avail.

That song sucks. Quite frankly, so do you for posting that, Moose.

You're an evil man, Mus.

There's gotta be a story behind that song. Guess I'll have to look it up now.

Honestly I hear this song and I can only think of Jim Carrey as Ace Ventura totally banging the hell out of Courtney Cox.

I once had a DM use this song (and a few others) as part of the "campaign setting" for the evening when he was drunk off his ***. Good times.
