No, I don't live in Sacramento, but my bro *does* live in W. Sac. I'm a Florida boy who moved to sunny Detroit to be an automotive engineer. Fortunately, I'm in a fairly stable position with a company that's been profitable except for 1-2 quarters this year. In automotive, that's nearly the equivalent of a miracle.

Anyways, the only time I'm really not well-seen is at an intersection where the driver's turning right - same risky place as DFs and peds.

And I've got a pretty cool flag - the blue one on this page. Much nicer than the little orange thingie. Ya'll should go try a 'bent - either a trike or a 2-wheeler. There's a ton of different configurations, and they also hold the human-powered vehicle land-speed records. Banned from cycling competition in the early 1900s because of the unfair advantages, though they suck a bit going up-hill. :)

Yeah, it's the climbing thing that makes me hesitant to try one.

That, and the turning thing. When I still had a road bike a long time ago and actually rode with some regularity, I remember riding down on the beach bike path. It's a cement path, goes about 15 miles along the ocean, I guess, and stretches of it are pretty empty. I came upon a recumbent one day (or did he catch me? That may have been the case), and we got into this little game of me trying to keep up with him on the straightaways, only to catch up to him on the turns and then get dropped again. It was an interesting ride.

Hehe. Was it this guy on the beach? And these guys make a 50-miler look pretty laid back. Forgive the annoying music - not my choice.

Heh, no, we were on a real bike path. That looks like Australia or something, in the first one. Looks like a fun outing riding up and down the San Gabriel River, in the second one.
