The recon class has the weakess toys IMO. Even the MAV thing is really only "super effective" in Metro, where people have less room to avoid it. They buffed the SOFLAM a bit though, but I haven't tried it yet. I have no one I play with too coordinate it's use. Other than that, most people are useless as snipers. There is an effective way to use them that helps your team, but most people try and find some hidden spot and try ineffectually to snipe people, ending up with a score of 500. YMMV.

I think you're greatly underestimating the power of the MAV.

The MAV is not some stupid road kill toy, its practically wall hacks for your entire team if its being used correctly.

It kind of depends on your team. A recon can be useful in a good squad, but there are certain aspects of the class that make it a magnet for tards.

Man, if I could go back to 12 year old me and just show him...

This is what gaming in the future will be like.

I can't imagine what gaming will be like 10 - 20 years from now, when Battlefield 3 is considered retro.

Well, now that they've passed the uncanny valley, the rate of increase in graphical fidelity is a much straighter line. At this point graphical improvements impress me very little and I prefer good art direction. YMMV.

Motion controls weren't the revolution and I doubt 3d is either. I think technology for both those things needs to improve a lot before they really change gaming in a serious way.

My 8-year old self (I don't remember how old I was) who saved every penny for a year to get a SNES for the awesome graphics would have a serious case of head combustion.

Anyway, I think I should play more TDM to unlock some weapon attachments faster. I always get side tracked when I see an empty tank in my spawn. "I need to unlock more for this class... oh, a tank/APC/Jet/Helo!" My tank is the most unlocked vehicle, but I want that canster shell still. I hear it's great against troop choices.

I'd still like better graphics, they still suck in comparison to real life. The true test is when you can't distinguish between your computer screen and looking out from a window with one eye shut.

I'd like everything to be destructible more or less, it bothers me how some buildings cannot be damaged but others can. I want the ground to have craters when missiles hit them.

I want the entire wall of my bedroom to be a super high resolution screen.

I want people's avatars to change facial expressions as they do in real life (optional of course).

That's all I can think of for now.

Meh, the creation of the holodeck will be the end of society.

Also, SQDM is the worst mode evar.

Deathmatch is a waste of BF3's potential. Why let engineers have repair tools if there's nothing to repair. <.<

I play nothing but Rush and Conquest.

I can repair your face... with fire.

TDM is good for weapon unlucks at least, but kind of not BF's strong point.

That was my favorite part of BF2:BC2. The destruction was so cool and you could actually dig foxholes with grenades.

A shovel is more traditional, but I like explosions.

Most of my matches recently have been pretty one sided, with me on the team of half-wits...

At least focus on keeping the objective close to our deployment zone, wtf are you guys doing?!

This is why I had to quit, too many idiots think BF is CoD. If you play dominance on CoD it is eerily similar to BF (one guy on each team cap'ing points and 7 dudes trying to camp sniping points).

I love it when the other team is full of snipers. I can do whatever I want. I think those are the matches where I go 2/5 KD and have 3000+ points from capturing things.

Snipers can provide great support in the right circumstances. I was rocking the bipod on a metro rush last night and had one of my highest scores ever. I pilot the MAV next to spots where the enemy is going to be going past (for spot assists) and set up prone on rocks to provide covering fire to teamates assaulting enemy positions or pin down attackers.
