There is no wrong in this situation. There's merely the expression of opinion.

I'm not lumping spec ops at all. It's the part of the game I've indicated at least twice now that I'm most glad they implemented. It's also not enough to change my opinion about the price.

In all fairness, I think he did explain already how MW2 has improved the customization of the online offering. If anything, they bolstered their offline offering with MW2 by adding the Spec Ops. At the end of the day, you're paying $60 because that's the going rate for games. This is a spectacular game, whether or not you feel the content is worth it to you. It's worth it to most others who do enjoy playing online. I guess it's just the price you pay to participate in probably the most active FPS game out there right now. It doesn't hurt that the game itself is extremely fun and well put together. I don't know what else you could ask for from an online standpoint from this game, other than more maps; though, maps will come in due time.

I understand completely why this game wouldn't be worth it if you don't like playing online. It doesn't really stand up to the $60 price tag if you have no plans to play online. However, if you do plan to play online, I don't see how the $60 is an issue. If you really expect to pay less than $60 for a game that doesn't have a 60 or lower metacritic rating, you're dreaming.

By the way, I don't pay anything to play online MW2 on my PS3, so it's not like everyone is forced to pay to play the game online. I bought a $60 game and I'll get 100+ hours out of it online, all free after the initial money spent. As you say though, it's just opinion. Your opinion isn't wrong. It's up to you whether you like the game or feel its worth it to you. It's up to the developers to add the content you want to change that opinion, not us.

I always get a kick out of folks that ramble on about topics they haven't a clue about. I suppose some just need to feel as though they are experts in every topic, even if they dead wrong about what they are rambling on about.

Quote:
1) It should cost less because they're still charging you additional fees to be able to play online.

So it should cost less because some people don't like the multiplayer game?

Funny enough, when *I* think of MW2, the single player game isn't the first thing I think about. In fact, I've yet to even touch my single player game at all; I jumped right in to multiplayer.

I'm not sure who the "they're" you are referring to in your sentence, but XBOX live charges roughtly a whopping .17 cents a day to play what ever multiplayer games I choose to online. It's not breaking my bank so I just don't understand people complaining that some games do not have the single player hours that others do. Should I buy a game that's ONLY single player style, my XBOX live account goes virtually untouched, so to me it all balances out in the end.

If you don't wish to fork over the $60 for the single player campaign in MW2 then just...don't. There's certainly no sense in arguing with others about it.

Quote:
2) MW2's multiplayer doesn't have any customizability beyond the first MW, and therefore probably took very little investment.

Well, you're wrong. Don't know where you're getting your information from but I can tell you that MW2 multiplayer has a LOT more custimazation then CoD4. If you're going to come and state something as a fact, you should at least research your accusations first so that you at least appear credible in what you're speaking of.

I'm getting my information from having played both, and then I'm expressing my opinion about it. Feel free to disagree, but pretty sure you don't need to be so offensive in your disagreement. I haven't affronted anyone here.

Well, got around to borrowing this from a friend and completing the single player. Only took me 6hrs on Normal difficulty, but boy they were some pretty fun hours. Might toy around with Spec Ops a bit, which I'm assuming are contained missions ala Rainbow Six Vegas.

I still have yet to even poke around at Spec Ops. I'm getting a little curious now that I'd already put over 30 hours into this game online without even touching single-player.

Well the Spec Ops are pretty cool, but some of them are near-exact copies of storyline missions. The unique ones are hella fun though.

I haven't been playing this for a few days due to an unlimited ammo (noob tubes, ac130 gunners, etc) bug. Dev announced today on Twitter that they're fixing some major exploits though, so I'll be back on.

I hear ya Lenas.

Someone in my class up at college said he was able to glitch into a unlimited time/kills team deathmatch where people can take turns going on huge streaks, piling up xp. He said he finished the round with 900 kills. That's not even a game glitch, it's a server-side issue. There are plenty of typical in-game exploits as well too. The javelin glitch needs to be addressed ASAP.

Yeah, those new bugs have made online almost unplayable for the last couple days. You're either running into unlimited auto fire noob toob/ac130's or getting stuck in an 18 man free for all on Rust while trying to play domination.

We've managed to divide a lot of players into a few basic categories. This entertains me, because we refer to them by name.

Witch: Class designed to run quickly and knife people. Usually has a ghillie suit, and a pistol with tactical knife as secondary.

Tonberry: See witch, with the addition of a Care Package smoke grenade for additional speed and keeping his head down.

DSD: Rangers or 1887s akimbo. Usually has stuff that lets them run faster to get into melee faster.

Bush: Ghillie suited sniper with Cold Blooded and sometimes a silencer.

Foomper: Scavenger and as many explosives as possible.

Fapotron: M16 or ACR, red dot/holographic sight, Stopping Power.
