No, **** you. 99.9% of the time I get an email, mail, or message that includes "please read" in the title, it has nothing of interest. Actually, I don't really know that for sure, because they nearly all get deleted immediately.

Post your message title and be done with it. IF it sounds interesting or important, I'll read it. If not, tough luck.

PS: I'm secretly hoping this thread gets zero views, for the reasons stated above.

If something isn't specifically addressed to me then chances are very high I won't read it.

Amusingly, I had a guy from Google email me with just the subject line of "Question". Needless to say, I deleted the email unopened, assuming it to be junk. So the next week, I get an email from the same guy with the subject "re: Question". So now I'm suspicious, and I look around at the list membership of a couple of lists I'm on, and come to find out I should actually be reading the guy's email. So I open it and read it, and while the subject is a red flag that made me delete it the first time, it's actually a valid subject line, considering that he was emailing me in order to ask me a question. So I respond back to the guy, and tell him why I didn't respond the first time, along with answering his question. Then a month or so later, I'm at a conference and am talking with another Googler, one who I do recognize his name whenever I see it so there's no confusion (and he also puts more helpful information in his subjects), and tell him the story. So we laugh and he tells me the other guy is in one of the "weird" groups anyway and not worry too much about it.

Moral of the story: Even people who should know better don't know better.

I'm getting close to adding this to our /etc/spamassassin/local.cf:

Code:
header __DOUCHEBAG1 X-Priority =~ /^1/
header __DOUCHEBAG2 X-MS-Priority =~ /^High/
meta RCVD_FROM_DOUCHEBAG (__DOUCHEBAG1 || __DOUCHEBAG2)
score RCVD_FROM_DOUCHEBAG 5.0

There used to actually be a small penalty for this in versions prior to 3.2. I'm not sure why it went away :/

I hate it when people don't put a subject for the email either.

I hate how Outlook takes 5 minutes to start up.

We recently migrated off of Lotus to Outlook. Lotus had a ton of problems but Outlook lacks so much in comparison.

I don't think I've ever used anything else.

Well, I've always been at the mercy of an IT department.

I do have gmail, but have outlook with the Comcast home email. What is a client, Lenas? Do you have lots of emails and it organizes them?

I just meant program when I said client. But yes, you can add multiple accounts and tie them into a unified inbox, among other things. Right now I have mine set up for two gmail accounts as well as my work email account.
