About a year and a half ago, Blizzard posted that they were going to require real names to be used. Therefore I had them delete my entire account.

I started to get e-mails from Blizzard to a different person. This included support tickets with numbers.

I called Blizzard and asked about it. The customer service person said that some indeed had made a Battle.net account on my e-mail account, but stated that there was nothing attached to it. He said he would remove it from the data base again.

That makes no sense, given the support tickets and I feel that I have been lied to. It is sad to think that my account was continued and given to someone else.

Blizzard likely doesn't delete accounts, as much as render them inactive. Someone (hacker) likely discovered the information to your inactive account and started paying for it again. why they would have then linked it to your email is strange.

The only way to prevent my personal information from being given out was to formally request Blizzard delete the entire account.

I did this. Blizzard TOLD me they had deleted the account.

They lied.

Well, to be fair, an account rep told you.... someone probably getting paid minimum wage in some 3rd world sweatshop. Not that Blizzard is blameless, but still.

I don't see where Blizzard lied about anything. They said they deleted your account, and they likely did. The ONLY thing that you can be 100% sure of in this scenario is that someone got a hold of your email address (which could have been from anywhere), and registered a Battle.net account with it. I see nothing to indicate wrongdoing on Blizzard's part.

Lets not disabuse the stereotype.
