Yeah, but the PW is what they are trying to solve by exhaustion.

Right, before they couldn't know if they had the right user name for you. Your email address......they can just ask you for that without you becoming suspicious. Or find a forum you post on and get it from there, since most of them require an email address and publish it.

The tool is posted up on mmowned.com if you're willing to pay for it:

Really long link.

Most account users probably have an alphanumeric PW with both case types. Even with only 4 characters, that would definitely get somethings attention spamming login attempts.

WoW passwords are not case sensitive. And the official forums don't lock you out after a certain number of attempts, I heard they disabled that after half a million people got locked out every time they had server troubles and everyone was spamming logins manually.

Screeling did not pay to have a subforum created. No sexual favors are known of by the Mod team, deviant or otherwise.

Someone claiming to be Boomot insisted, but we didn't lock Screeling out like Boomot asked. Boomot speaks in a very random, almost Delphic manner. It seems familiar somehow.

Now Screeling may never go there, and may never misbehave there as Boomot prophesied. Only time will tell.

I created a new email account specifically to create a battlenet account. (On November 11th, at that. I hated this whole Battle.net account conversion for precisely this security reason.) Since i'm not using the emaiil account for anything else, I should be okay.

As Taly said, using the same email address for your forums, etc, and your battle.net is account is generally a *really* bad idea anyway, and yes, using an authenticator is a big help, although it's not foolproof... (social engineering can get around just about anything if you have some basic information and a knack for it)...

Well damn now you're all making me nervous. I have a non word letter/number combination password but I used my normal email. Should I change it? What's an authenticator? Bleh.

You can buy them for a few $$ in the battle.net store.

Well worth the investment. You can even use it on more than one account

Thanks I grabbed the authenticator. For 6.50 I'd rather have it than not.

Yup, I grabbed one too quite awhile back. It's worth 6.50 just for the peace of mind.

For the better part of 6 months, I've been using an Envoy of Mortality on my hunter. I *hate* guns on a hunter, stylisticly. They look STUPID. Dwarves might get away with it a bit, but even then...Poison bullets (serpent sting)? Multi-shot? Volley bringing down a rain of arrows every time you shoot? I've always hated it.

Finally got a Death's Head Crossbow out of Jaraxxus-25 last night. Big improvement? I don't know, I didn't actually notice an immediate DPS bump, but at least it's not a gun.

i agree with you on the Gun thing Taly. So much so that I swapped out sound files so that at least it *sounds* like a bow. The sound the gun makes is supremely annoying, just adding to the things you mentioned.

My Hunter(s) are low enough in level that there is always a bow alternative, but I dread the point in time where a gun is a significant upgrade and there are no choices.

Stylistically, there's a LOT of stuff that looks dumber than guns on a hunter.

Tier armor, most shoulders in general, weapons, gnomes, hats, etc.

Don't get my started on T9 hunter shoulders.

Fire? Really? So...somebody thought...a competent hunter would set their armor ablaze? I mean, apart from issues with burning oneself...the best way I can think of to calm the beasts who are my prey and remain unnoticed by them is to stalk them with bonfires on my shoulders. Yeah.

I suppose they're not as bad as my now discarded Ironaya's Discarded Mantle. It has spikes. No big deal, right?

The spikes face the wearer's head. Fairly close to it, too. Whatever you do, don't shrug. We now know why Ironaya discarded it.

One of the cooler things about EQ2 (and other MMO's probably) is that you could equip a set of gear that would be visible on your character but still retain the gearset you want for stats. So if you wanted T9 gear for stats but wanted people to see you in a pirate hat and shirt with T8 boots, you could do that.

You'd see a lot of people doing level 55-60 instances again to get "tier 0" armor sets, which looked better than anything they've done since. (Beaststalker shoulders notwithstanding.)

And I would have a set of shoulders that had no graphic.

You should be noticing quite a sizable increase in dps with that upgrade Taly.

Guns aren't too bad. There's a who slew of weird technology that strangely fits the Warcraft universe.

Thank tha LORD this is an easy holiday event.
