Well, my MIL couldn't resist. Got a large Christmas card in the mail today, wishing me a wonderful holiday like she is having.

/sigh

Should've thrown it in the trash BEFORE you opened it.

Kirra:

Don't let that dampen your holiday. Just shrug it off and forget about it.

Merry X-mas, darlin' :)

I would have thrown it out, but there was no return address, I didn't know till I opened it. It's in the trash now though.

Thanks Foamy, I'm not gonna let her spoil things for me. She had to get her dig in, glad this was all it was.

Indeed. Now, go enjoy the company of your family on your days off!

My roommate's sister was giving me crap for not getting my family presents. I've never gotten them anything, it's just not something I care about. If other people enjoy the holiday, they are free to. I visit my parents nearly every weekend and I think that means more than buying them a present.

Too bad your visits just aren't something they care about, then it'd be ironic...which would at least impart something interesting about your lame post.

I'm thinking your self centeredness is possibly the saddest thing about you, but I could be wrong.

If I don't give them gifts every other day of the year, then why now? It's just a holiday. I don't partake in strange Australian aborigine rituals either, although I'm sure they are quite popular down there. What did people do the 3 million years before Christ was born?

Do they give gifts to you? I assumed they do, but if not then my apologies.

Well, you know, giving gifts is all about how you feel.

Last I checked, they were Jewish. I could be misremembering though.

I'm atheist.

I noticed that the question of whether you received gifts from them wasn't answered...

Lex not wanting to celebrate/ not caring about Christmas is perfectly acceptable, perhaps even laudable, considering his beliefs. At least then, I can respect his consistency.

However, Lex, as an independent son of reasonable means, you do have the responsibility to take your mother out to a nice meal (not one served on or eaten with plastic/paper/styrafoam) every now and again. If Christmas offends your sensibilities, then there is always her birthday, anniversary, mother's day, or any time at all.

I hope you aren't offended, but I am not particularly interested in continuing this conversation.

I can't figure out where to find how many days it rained in Cleveland this year. It felt like it was in the high 200s.
