The two comments are not even in opposition to one another. Yeah, Khross is probably right, the moonshine is probably awesome. That said, Aizle is also right in saying that it's awesome, IF you like moonshine AND you don't mind breaking the law. There's no opposition there. You are breaking the law by obtaining moonshine. How irrelevant those laws may actually be is beside the point.

It makes a difference. It shows a different thinking from a politican who spends the government's money on huge vacations in Spain.

Oh holy hell ...

Counties are dry in Kentucky primarily because it's profitable to remain dry -- for both the county and other parties ... mostly the other parties.

This is only news worthy because so few elected officials behave this way. If frugality in government was commonplace, he wouldn't have "purchased" anything. That said, do you think his efforts are misguided, or made in poor judgement?

I think his efforts are a drop in a bucket. They are self-serving and provide no appreciable benefit to anyone who's last name isn't Paul.

That's not to say that I'm accuse anyone of posturing or acting in a self-serving manner, I think the father and son's behavior is consistently ultra-conservative and ethical.

Giving back money to the government just gives the government more money. Give it back to the people and we can start talking a different talk.

As I see it, he has made cuts to the only area of government which he could make unilaterally, and Constitutionally. If he hadn't done this, I don't see how I could support him.

No moonshine is awful unless you dig the taste of charcoal that burns half your face off  My uncle calls it block n' tackle because after a few shots you will walk down the block and tackle the first thing you see.

Well, I just skimmed the thread, but I have to say I'm fairly outraged that he spent $500,000 of taxpayer dollars on Kentucky moonshine for his trip to Spain.

I think you misread it. He spent $500,000 on those $5 dollar 12 ounce cans of Scotch.
