It could be a very cathartic movie.

"Next trailer "Battleship" will start in 7 seconds"

BANG!

I will be satisfied if this movie is 1/10th as awesome as the trailer.

It's...not great. It's not bad, mind, but the performances could be a bit better, it's really unfocused and the plotting's dodgy, and the killings take a major backseat to interminable speeches where the main characters insist on spelling out in excruciating detail their worldviews, rather than trusting the audience a bit and illustrating the transgressions of the victims. For a film that's supposedly about the dumbing-down of American culture, that's frankly a death-blow. It's pitch-black and there are some pretty good laughs, but far too often it gets bogged down in its overwritten screeds, and never really tries to pick anything but the lowest-hanging fruit. It's a somewhat cathartic watch, but frankly, it left me unsatisfied.

Agreed. The writer think we are incapable of seeing the logic here.
