From my experiences they have also been tougher than your typical clean living people. Their music is, to be polite, aggressive. Maybe to reflect their pent up frustration?

The straight-edgers have a kind of punk angle to them, I thought. That would explain the aggressive edge to the music.

Of course, this is all book-knowledge for me. My kids are thankfully still too young for all of this. I have a feeling it's going to be interesting to see what they're into in six or seven years.
