 Post subject: Bunny Tracks....<3

After browsing several topics in this forum I've felt newly inspired to intensify my own workout routine. I'd like to keep track of it here and maybe others would want to chime in with useful information.

My routine mainly involves a lot of walking , indoor cardio when the weather wont allow walking, and sometimes bike riding. I usually walk 2-3 miles on weekdays.

I'm averaging about 1-2 pounds of weight loss a week, which my doctor has advised is safe and normal for me. But I've gotten a bit bored with it all. I need to mix it up with something new.

I was thinking maybe light weights, just to build bone density and increase upper body strength. Happy to hear other suggestions too. Have a great day! :psyduck:

I like those workout videos. But I don't know enough about weights to know which ones would be appropriate to use. Nothing too heavy of course. Maybe some light hand weights to start? I have no clue. Goes to googlefu....

O_o Really? But you must have some knowledge of them since you use them. I've been doing a bit of research about safe lifting and proper form to avoid injury. Very interesting stuff.

Yesterday I walked a little longer than usual. It was a little further than 3 miles, give or take. Just wanted to walk a different direction. Also dug around in the garage and found some old hand weights to begin with. So I'll google for some exercises and proper form. Think I'll post some useful links for anyone else who is interested.

Hi and welcome!

I feel obliged to give my standard: Dont be afraid of lifting heavy weights.

Did you mention what facilities you had access too if any? Definitely like the idea of lifting though. We see big changes in people all the time when they start :)

Hmmmm....well, I have no facilities. I'm just winging it. Making do with what I have and being creative for what I don't.

Progress report....

In the past two weeks I've lost nearly 4 pounds, just a smidge under. It makes me feel good to know that all my effort is slowly paying off.

What I'm doing....

Continuing my walking routine as usual. I also began a light weight routine with 2 pound hand weights. I've incresed the weight now to 3 pounds. Also staying constantly busy with domestic activities to stay in motion and keep burning calories. But I know how important down time is for muscles so I've been trying to make the weekends my rest time. Though it's hard since weekends can be quite hectic too. But I'd rather be busy than bored I suppose.
