Hi all,

I'm back! About a month ago, I was manic and crazy and got myself banned.

Shortly after, events led me to being hospitalized in a psychiatric ward and diagnosed as bipolar. I was stuck in there for 2 weeks. Now I'm out and medicated, and attending group therapy every day. I am on short-term disability and am returning to work in a week. I hopefully will not "troll" here like I have in the past... I think I have matured past this as I am no longer Internet-addicted (currently I am RL socializing-addicted).

Being bipolar is scary. The rate of substance abuse for bipolar people is 47%. Also my medication can lead to weight gain, which terrifies me. I have to be careful. I definitely plan on staying on my medication. It reduces my energy level, but I get good sleep every night, which more than makes up for it. It also stabilizes my mood, which possibly helps with socializing.

Welcome back.

I'm glad that you've found some help. I've had some friends who've been bipolar and it's definately no fun, but often with proper help (friends, habits, medication, etc.) it's controlable.

For my part, I'll consider this the "new" you and a fresh start. So...

/bonk!
Welcome to the Glade!

Thanks!

Being bipolar was fun at first... until things spiraled into insanity and panic attacks.

Which is why a lot of us wanted you to get your head checked out. Mental disorders can be very, very destructive.

Glad you figured out what's going on; that's the first step to managing it better and limiting how adversely it affects your life and those who love you. Welcome back, sir.

It's best to get this out of the way while you're young.

Welcome back.

Piece of free medical advice. There will come a time when you feel 'well' and want to stop your meds. One word....Don't.

Does a contraction really get to count as just one word? :P

When I had them, they generally counted for several exclamatory epithets.

Okay, you got me laughing with that one.
