PDAs were occasionally enough to get detention.

I got in trouble in grade school, and in retrospect it was all about my ethnicity. I don't even look all that Mexican, but in 1960s Wisconsin, I was a lightning rod. Could also be that I was too smart for my surroundings - the teacher came out point-blank and told my mom that I'd be better off dumb. I was in private school the next year, surrounded by like-minded rabble-rousers ... I guess we got detention and stuff, but nothing serious. Imagine that, got an education, too, that has stuck with me to this day.

High school? Nothing, except for a 3-day suspension for drinking. ****, we even had a designated driver who wouldn't partake if he had the car that night. And I wasn't even the one who threw up in the gym, but I stuck it out with my friend when he came to in the bathroom, surrounded by teachers.

He was the son of a county supervisor. I was the son of the local library head. It was something of a scandal, I guess.

Get your mind out of the gutter, old man.

I went to a Catholic high school as well, and the girls who went there were anything but good. Let's just say Coro would have loved it there.

I saw a letter from the school, opened it and read it, then stuffed it away in my closet. I went to the teacher and insincerely "apologized," to cover that base and make sure she wouldn't follow up.

Heh.. that's pretty slick.

I should have gotten in a lot more trouble than I did.

My senior year I missed my first period class 74 (I think the total number was) times. Still got an A.

Trouble? Ohhhhh yes. Anything I want to share publicly or post from work? Hellllll no. Thankfully the phrase "tried as an adult" wasn't as popular back then.

I got in trouble more times than I can count and it was always for silly stuff. Being loud, making a joke about the teacher etc. I got lots of detentions for those.

I got in school suspension once in middle school and I don't remember exactly what for but I seem to recall getting into a fight which was stopped before it was started. I got two weeks of advance homework done. In retrospect, I should have gotten ISS more often.

In High School, as a freshmen, I got 10 days of out of school suspension (which means I lost 10% in all my classes) for flipping off a teacher. The principal told me he was going to treat it as though it were foul language which, according to the student handbook, was 2-3 days of in school suspension. I mentioned this and he just further reprimanded me and threatened expulsion for a semester.

The worst things I ever did such as bringing drugs and alcohol onto school grounds, getting into serious fights and some vandalism, I somehow never got caught for. Yet I received one of the most severe punishments the vice principal could hand out for one of the most innocuous things I think I could have done.

3 days out of school suspension for fighting. Of course now it seems like I would have been in jail for it

OK, wait. Please humor an old fogey ... What's an "in-school suspension"? You still go to school, but have to hang out by yourself in a room or something? Sounds blissful. But maybe that's because I'm an adult now, with kids.

Went to Catholic School, but was your typical catholic emo art student school girl, just really didn't dress the part. Had lots of one day after school detentions- for late to school and uniform violations. Two three days, in a row, after school detentions for getting caught making out in the stairwells and skipping class to make-out. One ISS for being insubordinate to my theology teacher because I was absent the day before and I needed to copy notes and she kept screaming at me and I called her a *****. Same teacher who yelled at me for questioning why, "Why wouldn't Jesus come now, when the world is not looking like such a great place as is and only came when he did when we didn't have weapons of mass destruction?" I hated that nun. Screaming at me for questioning faith. Funny part, I am so much more educated about different religions, not just christianity that most of my conclusions prove my point and not hers.
