I think the real way to get global warming under control is to make all politicians take a vow of silence... if they would just stop with all of the hot air, temperatures would normalize in no time.

President Obama will attend the international climate negotiations in Copenhagen next month, according to a senior administration official, a sign of the president’s increasing confidence that the talks will yield a meaningful agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The White House will also announce today that the United States will commit, in the talks, to reduce its emissions of the heat-trapping gases scientists blame for global warming “in the range of” 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020, the official said. That’s the target set out in the climate bill the House passed in June.

This is the real thing that bothers me. Obviously the data he bases his agenda on is suspect. All that's going on right now should be plenty to put the brakes on and at least wait to see what comes out of it. But then again, I never really suspected the true believers to be doing it because of the science. They're in it for the control. I seriously hope that this all ends with Al Gorelioni being shamed into paying the Nobel prize money back.

So they threw out the data their models are based on...that's not important right?

Not important at all, because there's consensus!

And I guess the newly opened Northwest Passage is just a figment of my overly hyped imagination.

No more permanent Ice, apparently. Also, this year is shaping up to be the 5th hottest on record.

But it's all a conspiracy. See, these emails with at-work language I cropped out say so, even though they don't actually say what the right *says* they say. Sadly, the devil is in the details, and if the details make people yawn, they will just change back to Fox News.

That's a good example of the alarmist nonsense that causes such a backlash to the global warming community. Although not as bad as people like Al Gore getting caught in blatant lies and hypocritical lifestyles.

So, from the article, the information obtained by satellite observation and used to make predictions and assumptions about the ecosystem was misinterpreted by the scientists?

Yeah, I'm going to go with it's a cold year, especially since it was snowing here in Dallas this morning. Granted, I've only lived here about 14 years, but it seems a bit earlier than usual for this sort of thing.

Nope! It's a weird variation of hunt-and-peck, that occasionally slips past my proof-reading, lol :P

Taly - global temperature is not local temperature. Anecdotes are not evidence.

Evidence is apparently whatever the agenda-driven scientists make up.
