I eat too much fast food as I'm out and about with the new job. I'm worried about the cost and the effect on my health. I need to think about some heat stable alternatives to keep me going. I'm looking for things without a lot of prep (or it won't get done) or something I can prep for several days worth. Cereal and bags of chips alone are probably worse off than the fast food.

I have and use peanut butter crackers, but one can only eat so many peanut butter crackers.

Chex mix is a viable alternative if I can manage to get it to come out not burnt. (any ideas for electric stove please help). I could do a whole batch and om on it for a week.

Replace all your oral habit munchies with Cheerios. Plain or Multigrain ... avoid Honey Nut Cheerios.

Sandwiches? I make 5 subs (turkey + Salami) on Sunday, wrap em in plastic wrap and they hold up well all week in the fridge.

My parents had a soft side cooler that I could have so I've gone the sandwich route.
