For the same reason he *added in* his quote, in the first place. Kirra didn't make her post with a quote. Arathain stuck the part of his post in as a quote to make it look like she said something she didn't. This was an attempt at humor, and I believe it, that's how I read it.

Whether the humor attempted was in good taste, I leave to the reader and the mods. It clearly was not well received by Kirra.

No, the edit was in my original post, but that's not really relevant anyway. I just took the last statement I made, followed by "that sucks".

As far as foresight in to where things were directed... perhaps, but I can't say I really say I know folks that well / pay attention to all the various personalities around here - for good or ill.

I've always contended that humor, as such, through this medium is difficult to pull off.

Easy to take things the wrong way because you can't see a face or hear an inflection in a voice.

That is true of Text Messages, Emails, Forums, Blogs, etc. There is a reason Dave Barry is considered by most readers to be a genius, written word is so tough.
