Real quick synopsis:

Some years ago Mitt Romney took his pet dog Seamus on a long car ride and had him ride in a dog crate on the top roof.
Obama campaign and others have seized on this to mock him. David Axlerod, Obamas head campaign manager tweeted this:

A picture of Obama and his dog, with the caption "How loving owners transport their dogs."

Now it turns out Obama admitted to eating a dog in his book Dreams of my Father.

The revelation of which has yielded, among other things:

Axlerods picture with the comment "In hindsight a chilling photo"

Every second spent on this is a second that's not spent on substance.

Because of it weren't we'd have to discuss candidates on their record and issues.

To be honest, I just find it hilarious. It works on so many levels: American politics has devolved to this; slapstick comedy; excellent use of photoshop; and incorporation of memes.

Mostly because Obama and his legions have been attacking Rommney for a 2-3 decade old incident where he put the dog carrier/cage on the top of the room and trying to score cheap political points, all while he candidly admits eating dog. So turn about is fair play.

Yeah could be monthly. Or maybe just special occasions.

Not sure if he wears the fur of them either.

He doesn't, but Romney isn't a dog hating jerk either.

I never thought he was. Just lacking in a little compassion.

Because of one incident many years ago?

And wouldn't the exact same 'lack of compassion' apply to someone who consumed dog meat ?

I don't have any compunctions about eating beef, but I am against treating the cattle cruelly when it's alive.

But it's okay to put the cow in a properly designed, secure transport container outside the human traveling compartment right?

If the crate was secure, there's nothing cruel about what Romney did to the dog. It's really no different from it riding the back of a pickup truck.

There is nothing humane about the way dogs are raised for food in asian countries. I lived there nigh on 10 years, and found the entire thing to be thoroughly disgusting.

Most of the dogs being served on a plate aren't even raised to be eaten... This is why you never let your dog stray in the streets if you want them back...

OMG that means Obama doesn't just eat dog, but there is a high likelyhood he ate STOLEN or DOGNAPPED dogmeat..... /cue picture of crying Indonesian child holding a leash.
