I think Corolinth should post more pre-lingual thoughts, personally.

I cut you guys plenty of slack. If I'm attacking your grammar, it's because you're either claiming to not have said exactly what you did; or, more egregiously, you're claiming something contains meaning it cannot possibly possess.

**edit**

Holy ****, I really should not post while reading Japanese manuscripts.

I can really only express pre-lingual thoughts to me. Considering how much of our expression relies on the language to discuss it.. is that the notion you were driving at, Khross?

That's part of it. You actually project pre-lingual thought all the time. Almost all thought is pre-lingual. We simply sublimate that part of the apparatus into the linguistic expressions. And I assure you, "words" are not the only language we use.

This is, at best, a case of the pot and the kettle, considering your predilection for discounting dictionary definitions when inconvenient ("The dictionaries are all wrong") but relying on that same dictionary when it supports your point.

I say dictionaries are reductive on a regular basis; I pretty much reject definitions that summarily ignore the body of thought foundational to some concepts. For instance, your definition of "imaginary" is wrong and part of the problem with this discussion. It discounts what that word meant until maybe 5 years ago.

It's a good thing he didn't try to defend himself from being beaten. I mean, god forbid he had a gun and racially profiled one of the blacks who was beating him.

I guess since Owens wasn't a clean cut fella, he deserved to be beaten?

I'm not sure anyone can say that Trayvon Martin was the victim of a heinous, violent crime. The media has so mis-reported everything related to this case that any conclusions we can draw are likely tainted by bad information.

From the facts that we do know, I don't think he was a victim of a crime. Zimmerman may have been wrong at the outset(given what we know about the area and it's history of crime, I don't fault him for being wary of Martin) but everything else that has been shown to be true, he acted in self defense in my opinion. I reserve the right to change my mind if new facts come out. Not sure what Farsky has his panties in a twist about.

I think there is a little bit of snark in Farskee's post.

Poking fun and the media's habit of highlighting the bad things in the victim's background so the crime seems "OK" that it happened to him.

Just my take.

I thought this did not need stating ...

Maybe I know Mr. Near Ground too well or something. I read his post and recalled Trayvon being giving the same treatment by parts of the media.

This.

Sometimes I hate the inability to get a good read on someone's comments on the net.

Sorry for any snarkiness on my part Far.
