Man, I hope not, but I see reports it is so. I really don't want to vote for Obama.

I do not understand the Republican Party. Why they insist on snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is beyond me.

Because so long as an establishment candidate wins, it's not defeat?

#oneparty

That said, I heard snippets of Hannity interviewing Gingrich yesterday, I think, and he still seemed to be talking the "in it 'till Tampa" talk.

England just admitted to a double dip. Quite frankly, neither party wants to be in the one holding the figureheadship when the Depression is admitted.

I'm not a big fan of Romney, but Gingrich sure as hell isn't the answer.

I wonder how many votes I'd get as an independent write-in candidate.

None. Federal vote counting laws allow states to dismiss all votes cast for any candidate that "does not have a reasonable chance of winning the election."

They accepted Nader's and he got less than 3%. I'd get at least 20%. I'm charming.

They didn't have to accept or record votes cast for Nader. They also don't have to report votes for non-Party candidates in some states. It's kind of special like that ...

The Parties also have peculiar legal recourse when it comes to ballot access: they can and frequently do sue to remove 3rd party candidates and non-establishment candidates from ballots, especially during the general election.

The Libertarian Party secured ballot access for Michael Badnarik in all 50 states in 2000. He was actually only on 27 ballots by the time the Parties got down with the courts.

Ah! But as a write-in, I wouldn't be on the ballot, so they couldn't sue to remove me.

All I need is a catchy slogan, a campaign poster with me looking slightly upwards, and I'm as good as prez.

Vote Arathain Kelvar
Champion of the white, educated, upper middle class.

Apparently Mickey Mouse often gets several hundred thousand votes in a federal election.
