Spoiler:

So one of the resumes I turned in at a job fair may be panning out for me.

I have been corresponding with them over the past few weeks via email and I was invited to a group interview last Friday afternoon (3:30 pm). I got to the interview 30 minutes early (as I always do) and did not leave until 5pm. The guys giving the interview were awesome and made it seem like it was a great place to work. This was my first group interview, and I felt good when I left the interview.

During the interview they explained the hiring process as follows:

They get resumes' and set up the group interviews.
After the group interview they review the candidates and decide whom they want to try and acquire.
They schedule only the people they want to acquire for Windows and IE competency training, as well as WPM training (I sit right below 60 sans errors)
Those who pass the Windows test are then given background checks
Those who pass background check are drug tested
Offer letters are provided.
Training (paid), begin working

I was beginning to become a bit disheartened after I had not heard back from them today... but right after 5pm I got a call from them and they want to schedule me for my "windows and IE are now my *****" test (my words not theirs).

well the competency test went well enough, now to see where this goes...

and as Khross predicted, the Panel Interview at Cox went crappy. I got my eff off letter from them.

Sorry, at least they sent you an eff off letter. We don't even notify most external candidates anymore if we don't want em.

That's against the law in a few localities.

Not such a pressing issue when you have literally 3k people applying for 10 entry-level customer service positions. If you have a problem with it feel free to file a compliant with the NLRB and they'll get riiiiiiight back to you in a jiffy.

so, I started work last Wed.

The company that let me go re-hired me again, to replace the lead (one of my best friends) who decided to leave.

They gave me close to a dollar an hour more, but I lost any seniority I had.

I hope you are only planning to work for them long enough to find something else.

I am unsure. I am thinking of sticking with it. Mainly because it seems like they dropped me into a management track this time. But I am always going to keep my eyes open.

It has also been stated that my security was assured if I were willing to move to AL.

Defintiely at least consider the move to AL. It's good to experience different parts of the country. There's different types of living in different places and you never know what you might find that suits you.

I do not recommend this course of action. This company has already ditched you once. Further, if you haven't left anything in Alabama until now, there's no reason to start.

You need to analyze why they fired you and why they hired you back.

I tend to agree with Shuyung. I would actively keep looking and interviewing.

I am actually still willing to take offers and entertain them. I am just not opposed to the idea of moving.
