Definitely not why I played part 1 so much. What you've said has definitely piqued my interest in the game, but unfortunately I'm not sure if I can deal with a mouse and keyboard for the amount of time that this game would demand. I'm sick of mice :(

Reading that link Numbuk threw out actually made me more interested in D3. I still probably won't get it for awhile, but it certainly justifies the changes from D2. Good stuff. The point about weapon damage being factored into skills makes a lot of sense, and hopefully will go towards making everyone's skillsets varied and unique.

Diablo 3 is now allowing installation for those who have it downloaded, and the game is now live in Asia.

My CE will be arriving tomorrow. Wheeee!

However...due to Blizzard's moronic stance of 'you must always be online in order to even play the single-player game,' I will not be able to load it on my laptop and play while I'm on the cruise next week. Go go Blizzard. Eff you.

What you have just taught Blizzard is not that you are fed up with them, but that you are willing to accept that level of pain. Go go Farsky.

I'm set up with my laptop so that I can play Diablo 3 just about anywhere there's cell service...though cell service might be kinda limited on a cruise ship :p

10 bucks says pirates take care of this pretty quickly.

Helpful chart to maximize D3 playing if you're a family man.

2H Barbarian.

After I've played the hell out of him (as in, I've got act IV inferno on farm status w/ a full group) I'll probably play Monk next. After that maybe wizard, demon hunter, then witch doctor.

Demon Hunter and then Monk, most likely. Although I want to try a Barbarian and a Wizard, as well, but not until I've played my first 2 for a while.

Being downloading since this morning, however the game is plagued with issues.

If you bought this game on your battlenet account, there's a bug that doesnt bind the game to that account so you have no way of accessing it. There was a GM in Korea who was manually assigning the game to the battlenet accounts that bought the game, but this was slow going. Of course he's also been at it since midnight so majority of the country could now play.

In europe, the login servers are so clogged down that people are having trouble logging in.

Most of asia's battlenet account bought D3 can not be played as there are no dedicated GMs for their region.

Australia's plagued by the same issue, but those who store bought the game can login, if they don't get the clogged down issue.

Waiting for the US servers to go online (gives me the best ping) and hopefully they'll have fixed the issue of having battlenet bought D3 not showing up on the account.

Anyone know how to get your copy if you did the "1 year of WoW, get D3" thing?

Log into battle.net, and look under the "Your Game Accounts" section, and you should have the option to download the D3 client.

FarSky, if you're trying to play D3 on the cruise, you have bigger problems than your taste in games. :p

I never understood the appeal of cruises. What's there to do? Everyone I talk to only talks about the food and nothing else.

Ever been to vegas?
It's like a floating vegas hotel and casino + more.
Most (but not necessarily all) of the following activities will be on every cruise ship:

- casino
- piano bar
- lounge, cocktail bars
- free wine tastings
- live bands
- karoake
- night clubs/dancing
- pools, hot tubs and water slides
- sunbathing (even clothes optional)
- full service gymnasium
- full service spa
- saunas and steam rooms
- minigolf, driving range, golf simulator
- a few ships have roller blading and/or ice skating rinks
- rock climbing wall.
- full sized basketball/volleyball/tennis court
- pool tables/table tennis/air hockey/arcade
- over-sized Chess/Checker sets and shuffle board
- walking/ jogging track
- kids only area, usually with a pool and/or its own water slide (This is important because it keeps kids out of the adult's hair.)
- go to the show room where there will be a show every evening, one for each dinner seating
- library and Internet cafe
- movie theater
- free 24/7 room service
- watching the ocean (!)
- art auctions
- shopping

Then there's the long stops in port on every other day, to see all sorts of new places!
