That would just make absolutely no sense, though. Javik is the only prothean left. I would be very bothered by that.

I don't think any amount of text could do the resulting sigh justice. But they could always claim some BS reason that there's Protheans (not that they SHOULD). I don't know if they have rapid cloning, or something like that, or if it's collectors after ME2 that are no longer dicks. It does make me want to play some multiplayer now. I love the Geth infiltrator so much, though I can't bring myself to use its silly looking melee that often.

New free DLC. No Protheans. Guessing Phoenix = Reborn Cerberus

Mass Effect 3: Rebellion Pack
Posted on May 24, 2012 by Eduardo Vasconcellos

Reinforcements are being deployed to all N7 forces, bringing out some heavy hitters thanks to the new Mass Effect 3 Rebellion DLC Pack! Arriving on Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network and PC on Tuesday, May 29 (Wednesday, May 30 on the PSN in Europe), the Mass Effect 3 Rebellion Pack will be bringing you more gear, more weapons, more maps, and more kits, available at no additional cost for anyone who redeemed an Online Pass for Mass Effect 3 on PC, PS3 or Xbox 360.

The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Reegar Carbine, Krysae Sniper Rifle, Cerberus Harrier) as well as equipment, consumables, and six new characters from species that have lost lives or whole planets to the Reapers: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Ex-Cerberus Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues!

NEW CHARACTERS
Vorcha Soldier

* Thanks to their unique physiology and their Bloodlust ability, the Vorcha are joining the fight and are perfectly suited for the utilitarian soldier kit.

Vorcha Sentinel

* The innate aggressiveness found within the Vorcha make them shockingly durable combatants, and when coupled with their Flamer skill, the Vorcha sentinel is a force to be reckoned with.

Male Quarian Engineer

* Quarians have spent centuries at perpetual salvage and ship repair; the survival of their species depends on this technical expertise. When bringing the new Arc Grenade to the fray, the Quarians prove their prowess as effective engineers on the battlefield.

Male Quarian Infiltrator

* The Male Quarian Infiltrator must actively rely on stealth while in the heat of battle, and when they make use of their Tactical Scan ability, they quickly prove their mettle while continuously dishing out the pain.

Ex-Cerberus Vanguard

* When the Illusive Man turned to indoctrination in order to ensure the loyalty of his troops, many Cerberus operatives defected and joined the Alliance in order to stop the Reapers. Now that we’re on the same team, Ex-Cerberus Vanguards (along with their new Lash attack) are quickly proving their worth.

Ex-Cerberus Adept

* A result of the Illusive Man’s early experiments in enhanced human physiology, Ex-Cerberus subjects are highly skilled combat and biotics specialists. As a result, Ex-Cerberus Adepts can lay waste to the enemy with their Smash and Singularity powers.

NEW MAPS

* Firebase Jade – Surrounded by huge waterfalls, Firebase Jade overlooks an ancient reservoir built by the salarians centuries ago. Set up strategic chokepoints inside the base’s main buildings to get the jump on your enemy, and work with your team to meticulously clear each room to achieve victory.

* Firebase Goddess – Nestled in the epicenter of a Thessian metropolis, Firebase Goddess is one of the last strongholds of asari resistance against the Reapers. With its circular layout, Firebase Goddess is a tough location to control. This arena combines heavy cover and elevated firing positions, so stay light on your feet.

NEW WEAPONS

* Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle – These Cerberus-modified Mattock rifles are fully automatic. Cerberus gunsmiths reined in the recoil issues, resulting in a gun that stay on target, but delivers slightly less punch per round than a standard Mattock. As such, the weapon is typically utilized by Cerberus’ elite troopers, who train constantly to make every burst count.
* Reegar Carbine Shotgun – This electrical weapon improves upon the arc pistol’s design by generating a sustained current on its target. This weapon is named for the Quarian Reegar family, whose marines have served valiantly against the Geth.
* Krysae Sniper Rifle – This Turian antimaterial rifle is modified to kill Reaper enemies. The Krysae’s scope uses a rangefinder that adjusts to keep the target in proper proportion to the shooter, which comes in useful when the sniper is forced into close range. Its specialized ammunition is both armor-piercing and explosive. In a desperate move, the Turians released its specifications over the extranet so that nearly anyone with a fabricator could manufacture this weapon to help the war effort.

NEW IN-MISSION OBJECTIVE

* Randomly occurring during waves 3, 6 and 10, this new objective will demand that teams retrieve a high priority package and securely escort it to a designated extraction zone on each map.

NEW GEAR SLOT

* A new slot will be available on the equipment screen, offering players a persistent gameplay bonus that will not expire after the end of a match. These new items will vary from weapon upgrades to character enhancements and will be available through reinforcement packs.

*Grumble* going to be out of town the entire time this is running.

Please remember to set the “Upload Gameplay Feedback” setting to “On” in the online options to be able to participate in this N7 Operation.

Please note that due to a known issue, PlayStation 3 users will not see the promotion screen but they will be participating in Operation SHIELDWALL and will be rewarded.

Keep up the pressure, troopers. As you can see, N7 efforts to date have been bringing the fight right to the front door of our enemy. Our enemy is fierce, but we’ve got the might of the entire galaxy on our side.

Good luck and see you on the battlefield.

Garrus has never demonstrated a cloaking ability. I think he's a soldier. (concussive Shot, Marksman)

He has tech abilities(overload in ME2 and 3. Damping, electronics and decryption in ME1) and a sniper rifle. That makes him an infiltrator. Wrex didn't have charge, but he was still a vanguard(battlemaster).

meh. Defining ability of an infiltrator is still tactical cloak. His two weapons are typically sniper rifle & assault rifle. (even in the first game) Soldier classes are usually Assault Rifle + (shotgun or sniper rifle) He has overload only because the later classes had different power lists than the first game, yet in that one, for balance reasons he needed Electronics/Decryption lines)

His C-Sec/Military background more closely line up with that of a soldier.

Sniper Rifle favors Marksman, Adrenaline Rush and Tactical Cloak.

Another clear indicator Garrus is an infiltrator and not a solider is that he can't wear heavy armor in ME1, which is a soldier thing.

I always took Garrus as more of an Engineer.

Even if he was, we don't have turian engineers, either. Not that getting a turian infiltrator or engineer would bring me back. They would need to rehaul the entire unlock system to get me playing again. I can only take so many sentinel cards before giving up completely.

So I had enough points for a premium spectre pack when I opened up today. I got the Reegar Carbine, and it's basically an electric flamethrower. Say hello to the anti-Phantom.

I managed to unlock 6 Reegar Carbines, 4 of the new sniper rifles.. -- I actually like the new sniper rifle but its a little odd getting used to. Doesn't work so hot on hard targets but it makes mush of soft ones.

Also unlocked a couple of equipment items (grumble Shotgun I, hydraulic Joints I) but they aren't consumable at least, but they're FAR too rare in my book.

Finally I also unlocked the Vorcha Sentinel and the Quarian Infiltrator (male)

The Scan ability is..... lackluster at best. Maxed out it can briefly give everyone Hunt Mode vision, (without the annoying sparkles) and it does seem to help knock down the big guys significantly faster, ..but it can't trigger tech explosions, and the refresh is so long I'd rather just cloak and shoot again for all the good it does.

On the other hand, Vorcha Sentienel is all but unstoppable.

I only had mine at level 18 so only had fitness III, but I walked through a bronze mission without ever taking cover once. Their regen when maxed is so fast, you barely notice hits. The only time I died was when I walked up to an atlas and opened up with the flamer with three other cerberous soldiers all shooting at me. I died. Then the atlas died. Phantoms were a joke. The flamer was loads of fun to use (walking in and setting fire to a squad of troops... hehehehehehhe)

Lot balance changes too. Drones/Turrets have been beefed up significantly. Tactical Cloak is probably due for a massive nerf. (Infiltrators make up more than 30% of all characters on gold runs and anyone who's halfway decent dominates matches and is being renewed)

lot of bans went out for glitch exploiting.

The Phoenix whip-characters deal impressive damage in a very small radius.

I started up a new game today for the extended cut DLC(I've been meaning to play through again anyway) and I really can't tell if the multiplayer balance changes went through to the single player as well. I'm guessing not, but...well, the only weapon I have that would be affected is the Hurricane and that doesn't feel any different from the last time I used it. I'd go ask on the bioware forums, but I don't want to risk getting spoiled.

There's a huge number of multiplayer balance changes that were not posted here. (a significant number of them should be testable in single player.

I think the easiest to check would be to compare cooldown timers on the Scorpion. (it was made MUCH MUCH lighter)

Quote:
Mass Effect 3’s Multiplayer has been an interesting journey
for BioWare. Over the last few months, we’ve been watching player behavior,
talking to our players on the forums and in the game lobbies, and playing the
hell out of the game at home. Based on all of that, we’ve been trying to make
adjustments to the game within our post-ship limitations, our capacity for
development and testing, and our ability to patch or update.

We want you to know that we’ve been listening. We’ve heard
your feedback about character unlocks and training in the Reinforcement Packs,
and we’re poised to make some great changes in these areas. Specifically, we
want you to get new content faster and have a satisfying replacement drop once
you have all of the new kits. To this end, we’ve removed
Character kit cards as rare drops after all appearance options have been
unlocked and we’ll be introducing a new powerful Rare Ammo type that will drop
when you’ve maxed out your kits.

We hope you enjoy these changes, and we look forward to
seeing you in game!

So no more duplicate character cards once you've maxed out all appearance cards for a character. (thank god. need 2 Vorcha Soldier cards and I'm done. Should let me finally get some of the new equipment cards in force, and maybe some of the Black-border weapons)

Watched the EC endings on the youtubes. They even added a "there is no victory without MacGuffin" ending.

I was happy with my replay of my original synthesis ending. They re-did the relay explosion animations (so now only the spinning arms break off) to take care of my biggest gripe, that seemingly everyone had been killed. I enjoyed EDI's narrative as well, and now my game actually feels complete.

Thanks, Bioware.

I suppose I should also add that I like what they did with the stuff. The premise of the endings is still kinda meh with me, but they very much improved the execution. Still think the Refusal ending was kinda stupid to throw in though.

Well, hey, people wanted the choice. Just like they wanted the choice to kill everyone, including The Shepard, in part 2 :P

I played through synth last night and watched control/destroy/refusal this morning at work. I like the endings of both synth and control the best, for different reasons.
