Yeah I remember my first time at night with the team opening up the dome with no one else in the observatory but us - waiting for the scope's temperature to balance with the winter air and getting the right lens and looking out. And this was just 20 miles outside of Pittsburgh on a 1920's era scope. Can't imagine some of the views on the big remote ones.
