Paterno is burning in hell if hell exists. Regardless, everyone involved and still living, likely including Wives should go to jail.

The most damning thing for Paterno is that after the '01 incident Curley, Shultz, and Spanier met and agreed to report it to 2nd Mile and the Dept of Welfare. Then Curley sent an email saying that after thinking about it and meeting with Joe, he decided it would be better to meet with JS, and if he admitted he had a problem, that they wouldn't report it to DPW.

After reading much of the report, it is clear that this is, in large part, Joe Paterno's fault.

Seems to me that Joe Paterno valued his football program above all else.

Truly disgusting. Me, I never gave a damn about Penn State one way or another. I'll be more interested in seeing if those who revere him can look beyond that and see him for who he truly was.

Yep - what an *******. My first thoughts when this broke was that, at a minimum, he didn't manage his staff properly and should have been shit-canned. Now it looks like he should have been jailed.

Dig him up and throw his carcass in jail.

So NCAA penalties are going to be announced tomorrow morning. Word is that they are substantial and may actually be worse than the death penalty.

So begins the punishment of thousands of innocents.

Guess I'm lucky I graduated when I did, cause I'm certain it's going to be every single Penn State student that ends up paying for this. Literally.

There's no way to prove it, but there has been anecdotal evidence that job-seeking graduates already have. It wouldn't surprise me, given the vehemence against the university in general.

Everyone must be punished for the sins of a few, collectivism at it's finest.

Go ask the Catholic Church what next steps should be.

To forgive those horrible molested children for seducing the priests? (actually that was an Onion article)

If the bread winner of a family commits a crime, and is punished, his family also suffers.

The University has been judged for it's actions by it's sanctioning body. That the judgment does some harm to it's students and faculty is the fault of the University for committing acts that called for a judgment.

He knew that Sandusky raped kids or he knew he was accused of it or what? Deluding yourself of an obvious truth is one thing, **** up in and of itself but I mean if Paterno knew Sandusky raped kids and let it go on... wow.

Scary (which isn't the same as undeserved. )

I wonder what they done if they had just quietly dismissed Sandusky in 98.

This is sad and unfortunate.

The only people who should be punished are people who were involved in the crimes. The University, it's employees and students will all be affected by the actions of a few.

Put the asshats who are guilty of crimes in jail, and put the university on probation.

The University is responsible.

The only innocent victims here (other than the molested kids) are the students and alumni.

This has been revealed to be so systemic, so completely ingrained in the university as a whole, and it was their biggest sin to put their **** sports program above the needs and protection of children. The punishment seems completely appropriate.

If the students are hurt by this, It's not the NCAA that's hurting them. They're just still being struck by the horrific failings of an abusive university.

If you're pulled over for speeding and given a pricey ticket, are the funds now denied to your family the fault of the police, or your fault for breaking the law?
