Holy shooting spree, batman!

I'm glad I don't live in that part of town, and chose 7:30 am as my viewing time.

Sick thought crossed my mind: was the gunman hoping that he'd kill some wealthy kid's parents and become the catalyst for a real-life Batman?

Don't we have another Glader in that area? Where is a link to the glader map thingy when you need one?

Thoughts and prayers to the victims, especially the families of those lost. This isn't what I wanted to see when I woke up this morning. Heartbreaking.

It's 12 now, so that's... good? /sigh

A 3 month old was wounded. Not sure what it was doing at a screening of batman, but whatever.

God, people suck.

Not sure what a 3 month old or a 6 year old were doing at a midnight showing of Batman.

Cue the gun-control crowd, they're due to make their appearance very soon.

Only assholes politicize a tragedy, whether it be for or against the issue. Just as many people use the tragedy to advocate for and politicize gun purchases/carriage (or use it to pre-emptively attack/denigrate imaginary people who haven't actually said anything yet). Neither is right to me. Personally, while I don't any qualms with guns, citizen-carried or no, I don't like seeing tragedies used as opportunities for exploitation, and that's what any politicization of the event is, whether you agree with the premise or not.

Let's not "blame both sides" until both sides actually do something.

That said, depending on the applicability of the situation, it's fair to say "that guy shouldn't have been allowed to have a gun" or "if everyone in the theater had a gun, fewer people would have died."

As long as it's applicable, and done appropriately. Jumping to conclusions about his influences and/or motives is not appropriate.

I think so...I knew Taamar was out there with Shel but I thought that there was at least one more person from our group that called CO home.

Well, in this case, MD seems to have been preferable.

So very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been affected by this tragedy.

Found this image on the web, and thought I'd share it here.
