3) Can we please only add amendments to bills that pertain directly to the bill?

Oddly enough I just placed an order with Magpul for 15 more 30rnd mags for my M-4.

I also just ordered 5 Magpul PMag Maglevels, in Foliage Green. I was going to outfit some Colt GI with Magpul followers but I figured the polymer mags might save some weight.

What are these new Magpul Pmag M3 mags that say coming Summer 2012?

why would you need 15 mags? Are you imagining having them preloaded for a siege situation or something?

Why does anyone need to prove need to anyone else for what they do? If life required approval from others beyond what they need then this world would never exist. No internet, no clothing, no free time.

In short - it doesn't matter why he wanted them, he wanted them and he is free to pursue what he wants.

The question itself has such an infuriating and irrational premise.

Elmarnieh, you know he's British and they think differently about freedom than we do.

There is evidence that gun control has worked well in Britain, so well, that knives are used in four times as many murders as guns.

Here's a little article by the BBC news to support that. It also supports the concept that removing guns does little or nothing to remove violence from a country.

And I only mean that half-facetiously.

I think you're being way defensive. I'd ask the same question if you bought 600 tins of canned tuna. You're becoming irritated because you're halfway through an argument in your head that isn't being made.

My motivation is curiosity, muppet.

He reacts poorly to limits on hs perceived and constitutionally guaranteed freedoms. Any limitation is an attack on the American people. In many ways he is correct, but expresses it so poorly that he sounds crazier than Foamy tells me he is.

Foamy can be very defensive of the muppet, being a long time friend. I can respect that. Of course this is text on the internet, so take that as you will.

A question on why you'd buy 15 magazines is a limit on a constitutionally guaranteed freedom? ;-p

It's a common opening question for a lot of gun control arguments *shrug*

thats kinda sad. We've been here a long time. I've talked to mike and elmo a long time. And rather than talk to each other, we're going to talk at the people who aren't here we're angry at?

To quote elmo, that attitude has such an irrational and infuriating premise ;-p

You could have asked why he wanted that many mags but you didn't. You asked why he needed them as if all of lifes decisions and human activities are and should be predicated by need.

Asking why he wanted them is an understandable question asking why he needed them is not.

I'm not angry at you Sui, I'm pointing out the assumptions alluded to in your phrasing and how maddening they are.

Indeed, why does anybody "need" anything beyond Maslow's lowest 2 tiers? You don't, so the "needs" questions can always be agitating.

However, I wouldn't chalk that up to any implied meaning so much as just the lack of specificity that pervades modern discourse, and is one of the downfalls of society. :D

Holy crap ;-p Ok, I reword my previous question as why would you want 15 mags ;-p

(FWIW I dont get irritated when people ask me why I need 3 bicycles or 7 wristwatches. I just explain my rather tortuous rationale ;-p I get that it seems odd to some others ;-p )

Off to see batman now!

That's because no one is trying to limit your bicycle or wristwatch ownership :D

I have 18 guitars, and keep building/buying more. When people ask me why I have so many guitars, I just say 'because I can'. :P

I want 15 magazines because if I went through the first 14 and still need more then damn, **** is in the fan.

Today Justice Scalia said he believes there is legitimate Constitutional precedent for limiting Second Amendment rights, and that restrictions and bans may be reasonable. It's headlining Drudge as we speak.

15 more mags. Why would I imagine having them preloaded? What good is an empty magazine?

Anyhow, if I was expecting a siege situation I wouldn't be stocking up on mags, I'd be stocking up on other things. And moving them to a location where I wasn't expecting a siege. And then being there when the siege was happening at the other place.
