I am a huge fan of sandwiches, they are easy to make and can be a great dinner. I was wondering if any of you all had a favorite sandwich meal.

I'm liking the pulled pork sandwich with mustard potato salad and pickle spears right now. (I even made the pulled pork in the crock pot, so kinda like I actually cooked ;) . )

I was on a chicken salad kick earlier this summer.

I'd make up a big batch of the "basic" mix (lime-cilantro marinated chicken breasts, grilled) with cream cheese, celery, onions, dill, some dill pickles and spices.

Then I'd add whatever else I felt like to it that day before eating.

Also experimented a bit with a fried chicken salad that was very good- just debone and chop fried chicken rather than grilled. A nice extra crunch!

PB and jam on multi-grain bread. Add a glass of milk and I'm happy.

BLT on toasted multigrain bread is my favorite sandwich, with tuna salad on untoasted multigrain bread a close second. Lately I've been having an open faced bagel with deli sliced turkey and pepperjack cheese melted and browned under the broiler. I also like deli sliced turkey with red onion, avocado, and lettuce on multigrain bread. Occasionally I might even splurge on a gnome sammich on multigrain bread.

Can't go wrong with a reuben. There's a place in town here that makes them on pumpernickel bagels. Oh yeah.

Also, not sure if this counts as a sandwich, but I hope it does, because it was awesome. Recently my wife and I stopped at the Mabry Mill along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

They took a corncake, and then put on top of it some pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and pimento cheese. Then they put another corncake on top of that. Served with additional BBQ sauce.

(They also had a super great BLT salad. Bacon, lettuce, and fried green tomatoes. For the "bread" they had croutons made out of toasted day-old biscuits. I think I need a nap just talking about it.)

Raell, shoulder is butt, with pork. Butt refers to the upper part of the shoulder. So what exactly is your question?

This.

It is the most perfect sandwich ever.

I mean a REAL reuben, none of those fake ones with turkey or cole slaw or anything else.

Corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese, thousand island/russian dressing on toasted rye bread.

Do mediterranean pocket wraps count as sandwiches?

No. They count as abominations.

Ugh. The only thing appetizing about a reuben is the Swiss cheese.

Also, wraps > sammiches.

What's with the sauerkraut hate? It's just cabbage that has been pickled...and it's delicious. Corned beef (or pastrami) on rye with swiss and sauerkraut sounds yummy, especially with a hot mustard or horseradish.

I'd like to put the good word in for the Roast Pork with Broccoli rabe and sharp provolone cheese.

Adam Richman of Man v. Food fame just declared this sandwich (specifically from Tommy DiNics in the Reading Market in Philadelpha) the best sandwich in the nation.

Though I have not tried DiNics version as yet, I have had an equally yummy version at a local sandwich shop to me.

All may not agree with Adam Richman, but this sandwich is so incredibly tasty it just defies all reason.

Brisket sammich.

And yes, I do bbq my own brisket by slow-smoking it!

That is one thing I have not been able to pull off. Beef brisket...I screw it up every time and it cost to much to do that.

Do you wrap it in foil? I usually cook it with smoke for a couple hours, then wrap it in foil.

... Last time I made it I wrapped it in foil the night before with the seasonings. I started cooking it still in the foil. I need to do more research.

What's the nature of your disappointment with the final product?
