What are you all playing?

I started up a Human Elementalist and a Norn Ranger over the weekend. GW2 is going to be splitting time with MW:O and some Planetside 2, on top of my computer gaming not getting as much time as it did back in the day, so I doubt I'll be advancing quickly. And then we've got the Borderlands 2 release on the horizon, which I'm sure my brother will drag me into. And then X-COM: Enemy Unknown and (presumably) the multiplayer release of The Banner Saga, which ought to also enthrall me.

I love this game.

I have 1 of everything (yes I bought character slots already). Most of my time this weekend was spent duoing with my wife, either on my Norn Guardian or my Human Ranger, though I did spend a a couple hours exploring the Charr Death Star (Black Citadel) on an Engineer.

I should be searchable under Ulfynn on the contacts list (Y). It'll show Ulfynn.XXXX (some random number I don't remember offhand).

During beta weekends, I played with almost all of the classes for somewhere between 6 and 10 levels each. I think the only class I didn't try out was the Mesmer. At the moment, I've got a Ranger but it honestly wasn't the class I loved best. I think the Engineer won that honor.

Also, I'm currently playing a Sylvari Necromancer.

ArenaNet announced they had 400k concurrent users during the head start weekend, over 1 million boxes pre-sold and now climbing with the release.

On the other end of the spectrum we have TSW that just released a financial report saying they basically only sold 200k to date.

Just hit level 30 with my Sylvari Ranger tonight. I really am enjoying doing the completion thing. I've finished Caledon Forest and Kessex Hills 100%. It's very solid leveling speed doing it and you get a nice chest full of loot for getting 100%.

I did an underwater boss in some ruins tonight. There were probably 10 people around level 25 and he was really kicking our asses until he got stuck on a wall for an easy win. Dropped like 10 chests full of loot! It was crazy, I didn't even have enough room for it all.

Really love the different experiences that this game is offering. I was rolling around a different newbie area getting crafting mats and found a cave with some animal (Raven, Bear, Leopard) shamans in it. In-between larger platforms where I had to kill a couple of them, there were narrow pathways to platform across littered with ravens that blow you off the ledge if you touch them. For reaching the end I was rewarded with a fancy chest with some level-appropriate (20+) loot inside of it, even though I was in a level 10 area.

Me too. Today I did a little crafting and got level 31 and 32 from it. I only did it for maybe an hour or so too. Then I went to do some more gathering/completing zones and found a really fun jumping puzzle in Metrica Province. Jumping on platforms, wind blowing me off of branches. Fun diversion.

Also did some of my Personal Story quest in which I had to gladiator fight. One guy I had to beat was one of those little Quaggan guys who assured me he was "going to foo up your day"

I play a Sylvari, the plant race, and last night in my Personal Story an Asura called me a Yammering Salad and a Soft Hearted Artichoke.

I couldn't agree more. There are so many "easter eggs" that reward exploring. Everything from small events to vistas or item rewards. There's a section of Lion's Arch that reminded me of poking around the sewers of Qeynos.

I just found out there's a bank tab built into every crafting table. I can't believe nobody thought of this before now, but I don't think I ever again want to play an MMO that doesn't have it.

Also, there's a special tab for crafting materials - a particular slot for every variety, and they stack infinitely. You never have to worry about crafting mats overwhelming your bank space.

I think they only stack to 250. Also, I really wish you could use mats without needing them in your inventory :/

Yup. Discovered the 250 stack limit last night.

Found a whole lot of useful tips here, btw, including a couple of things about your inventory that I didn't know.

Some Helpful Person wrote:
•There is a gear icon in your inventory menu that you can click to remove the separation between bags. I find this unclutters your inventory window.
•You can also click on the gear icon and choose to “deposit all collectibles” into your bank. This is extremely useful. It keeps your inventory clear, and if you’re interested in crafting or auctioning items later, you need only visit the bank.

Anyone that wants some 8 slot bags, become a leather worker real quick, buy 40 rawhide squares off the trading post for 3s or so and make em.

There were rawhide squares on the trading post when you looked?

I ask because I was actually looking for rawhide last night and there was none for sale at any price.

FYI: every armorcrafting discipline has 8-slot bag recipes. It would seem to me that armorsmithing for the chests would be easier than using up leather. Of course, I say this as a Leatherworker / Huntsman who used up a bunch of leather making 8-slot bags before I realized I could have done it with copper instead, but ...

Found out last night that the secret to crafting skillups is the Discovery tab. Wish I'd known that before I wasted time and mats doing the WoW-style "make tons of junk to get skillups" method.

Also - yes, much <3 for the vistas. Also, I'm quite happy with the Map Completion and Daily Achievement rewards.

Yeah discoveries are the way to go with crafting. I've heard of people doing 70-80 in 40 minutes just crafting alone.

As of this morning, you can craft without taking items out of your bank :)
