Yeah great stuff. Although I hear they nerfed cooking in terms of not letting you just buy everything you need to level to 400 with cheap Karma ingredients.

not sure that's really a "nerf" so much as fixing something that was broken.

It was clearly far too easy.

Anyway I hit 80 on Saturday, trying to get my gear now. Amazing difference in stats between my level 70ish greens and a level 78 or 80 Exotic.

Isn't that what all Nerfs are? Depending on your perspective?

I use it as any change that reduces power of effectiveness. Buff being the opposite. Yeah they are all fixes or corrections.

I save the term Fix for something that is absurdly broken which Cooking was not.

So is everyone enjoying the game? I'm having a lot of fun with it.

It shouldn't, I know this, but ... it boggles me that there are already lvl 80 toons.

My ranger is 30, my engineer is 20, and my token placeholders are in single-digits.

Leveling is very quick imo. It's not like EQ or even WoW where it scaled higher as you go. 75-80 felt as quick as 25-30.

I got so many just running around exploring, harvesting, doing the odd Dynamic Event and some hearts here and there.

The dragons in this game are probably the best ones I've seen in any game.

Check out the scale on this guy:

Interesting thing I noticed today - if you want to unlock all available weapon skills for your profession, it breaks down like this:

Soldier Professions
Guardian...32
Warrior.....32

Adventurer Professions
Engineer...14
Ranger.....32
Thief.......28 *

Scholar Professions
Elementalist....64 **
Mesmer..........28
Necromancer...32

* This assumes that the thief must unlock each of the dual-wield skills separately
** This is not a typo - due to the elemental attunements, each weapon must be fully unlocked four separate times

I knew my Ele had to work harder than my other characters to unlock all his weapon skills, but I didn't realize just how much harder until I ran the numbers.

GW2 has the most forgiving leveling curve ever:

In fact, having hit 80 and just running around Orr trying to get 100% map completion I gained ~20 skill points so I'm really level 90 at least. Again, just having fun exploring the game.

You get a skill point for each "level" of experience both pre-and post 80 but I've also done the skill point challenges along the way.

Is leveling in this game easier/faster than SW:TOR? I have four level 50's in SW:TOR (as of last night). This is significant for me. I've never had a max level character in any previous MMO. The fact that I have four of them tells me it must be pretty easy....

I'll try and remember to do an /age on my guy tonight. Seemed significantly faster than SWTOR.

It's very much faster than SW:TOR. At the beginning, it's probably about the same, but after lvl 20 or so in SW the curve gets much steeper and you slow down on progression. In particular it slows way down from 45-50.

In GW2 the curve is pretty linear.

/Age results:

I have played my lvl 31 ranger for 37 hours 45 minutes.
I have played my lvl 20 engineer for 16 hours 16 minutes.

Across all characters, I have played for 62 hours 33 minutes over the past 17 days.

Pretty sure I've been playing it laid-back, sort of Oppan gangnamseutail

I'm probably not going to get a chance to play, but I'm interested in how you guys like the game now that it's been on the market for a few weeks.

Best MMO in years Coro.

Engaging gameplay, very little/no grinding, rewards for exploring, engaging PvP, breathtaking visuals

+1

I haven't been this excited about a game since EQ.

I continue to be rewarded for exploring.

Yesterday I tripped across Sector Zuhl. It's pretty amazing how rich and full the world is.

What are the graphic requirements? Can you enjoy the game on mid to low settings?

I play on an economy machine, with a 3-yr old GeForce GT220, so my settings default to pretty much the absolute lowest values, and I'm still enjoying it.

I occasionally see a scenery object un-render at a shorter distance than I'd like, but that's been the only complaint I've had.

The game is still very playable with graphics set at low. I would say that still look better than WoW overall with everything low.

That said, if you can swing the higher settings, the game is stunningly beautiful.

That's impressive Aizle.

I may pick this up. I've been wanting a time killer to jump in and out of and I like that it's just pay for the game and no monthly subscription.
