The biggest thing for me isn't the prep, it's the dishes. They are never ending.

This is a very good point, I hate the clean up the most too.

Thirded. I can't tell you how many times I've skipped cooking something just because I didn't feel like washing the mounds of dishes left over from cooking the last meal...drives my husband nuts. I abhor washing dishes!

When mine behaves like this I don't put any money into her checking account.

Wow! So glad I'm not related to you in any way, Rynar. That kind of attitude would have had your *** kicked out the door a long time ago. My hubby and I share responsibilities around the house, therefore the money he earned while he insisted I stay at home, is shared equally. If your lady is working outside of the home, I pray she has the brains to keep her money separate from yours.

I work 80 hours/week, she works 20. She keeps every penny she takes home at my insistence, and is free to spend it on whatever she likes. I pay all our bills, make contributions to our retirement accounts (both mine and hers, qualified and non which are kept seperatly but receive equal investment), provide us with benefits, and buy new cars as needed.

If she's feeling extra spendy, and blows through her own earnings, but isn't doing the job we agreed was hers (because I'm never home due to my work schedule, and she insisted she didn't want a housekeeper) then I don't put any more money into her checking account.

If that makes me some kind of ogre in your eyes, then I guess I'm proud to be an ogre. I think the traditional pronunciation is "provider" though.

Anyhow, back to the matter at hand.

Yes, I cook, usually on the grill, sometimes breakfast in the kitchen. How often depends which shift I'm working, but at least once a week, sometimes 4 or 5 times. When I'm on vacation I might cook every night of the week.

I probably wouldn't do much cooking if someone got everything ready; I like to do it myself.
