Well, I was naming the really good stuff (hence why I didn't include The Abyss...did not care for that one), but yeah, Cameron also has the highest grossing film ever made under his belt as well, so I suppose that would count as a feather in his cap.

Story wise, Titanic was crap. As a film, it was freaking beautiful. Same for The Abyss. Which I don't love but I don't hate it either.

Doesn't make it any less pretentious. Even if I didn't think they were over appreciated and also made one of my favorite movies recently called "Inglorious Basterds" I'd still think they were a pretentious douche. YMMV

I'm not really sure if it's marketing or the actual artist putting the names first. A lot of times, they will do it to increase customer interest. You've never heard of Avatar before, but you know who James Cameron is.

Yeah, now I know he's an egotistical douche.

ALL Hollywood directors, I'm pretty sure, are egotistical douches. You could probably just put down that [/i]everyone[/i] in Hollywood is an egotistical douche, really, but I do know a few folks who aren't douches about it here.

But, he's an egotistical douche who's been very successful at what he does and has made a **** of money doing it, for him and others, so, yeah, he can put his name up there.
