I'm going to go full tinfoil hat right now.

Obama's October surprise is going to be finding who was responsible and bringing them to justice. The actual surprise will be that the people brought to justice will not actually be those who did it- Ala the hanging scene in gangs of new York. I expect it to happen shortly after the debate if Romney is deemed the winner or closer to November to give a quick bounce going into the voting Booth.

You know, I never heard of that movie until it came out. And the MSM has panned it big time and tried to discredit it as much as possible.

Something to watch for when the Bigalo movie does come out...look at what the MSM said about that Obama movie that just came out and then see what they say about the Bigalo movie. Should be interesting.

You mean Zero Dark Thirty? The...one that doesn't feature the president at all and is being released on December 19, well after the election?

Thanks Farsky, I knew you would come through. Anyway, after making my statment I went to look for an update on it. Last I heard of its production was a number of months ago. Things change. I hope it winds up being a good movie as I enjoyed the Hurt Locker a lot.

From my understanding, Bigelow is trying again (like with The Hurt Locker) to not tell the story in a politicized manner. I think the release date move likely reflects that.

Rights group: Police rape woman in Tunisia, then charge her with indecency

Outraged Tunisians took to the streets by the hundreds Tuesday, angrily protesting the treatment of a woman who was allegedly raped by police officers -- and then charged with public indecency when she filed a complaint.

"At best, charging the victim of a rape by police officers instead of protecting her from intimidation and stigma highlights the deep flaws on Tunisian law and criminal justice system," said Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, deputy Middle East and North Africa program director at Amnesty International.

"At worst, it is an insidious attempt to discredit a rape victim and protect those she accused of raping her."

The case began September 3 when three police officers approached the woman and her fiance while they were in their car in the capital Tunis, the woman's lawyer told Amnesty.

More: Women, free speech and the Tunisian constitution

Two of the officers then raped the woman inside the car, while the third took her fiance to a nearby ATM to extort money from him, the woman claimed.

It was only after she filed a complaint against the officers -- and they were charged with rape and extortion -- that the officers said they found the couple in an "immoral position" in the car.

"This case first shocked public opinion since the innocent woman was raped by policemen," said Salah Eddine El Jorshi of the Tunisian League of Human Rights. "But when the verdict was announced, we were shocked even more that they tried to take this to another level by targeting the victim herself."

Authorities have not specified what they meant by "immoral position," but the claim was later repeated by the country's interior ministry, Amnesty said.

The couple was charged with "intentional indecent behavior," which could yield up to six months in prison.

Both have denied the charges. Tuesday's session is the second of what is expected to be several court hearings on the matter.

The decision to charge the woman incensed human rights groups like the Tunisian League of Human Rights and the Tunisian Association of Democratic Women, who called for protests outside the Tunis courthouse.

"We fear that the treatment afforded to the young woman will deter other victims of sexual abuse from coming forward and as they may fear being treated as the accused rather than the victim," Amnesty's Sahraoui said.

Because of the case, rights groups are taking a closer look at the Tunisian government and judiciary.

"This caused a major upheaval in Tunisian public opinion," Jorshi said. "Some felt that maybe the woman was part of the crime, but others strongly felt that she was solely targeted because she was a woman."

Tunisia is the birthplace of the Arab Spring, a series of revolutions that swept across northern African and the Middle East.

On December 17, 2010, Mohamed Bouazizi, a young Tunisian street vendor, set himself on fire in protest, sparking the movement that still ripples through the region.

Tunisia's revolution ousted President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali and brought about a new government and political system, including a new draft constitution.

But challenges remain.

Last month, the government rejected a U.N. Human Rights Council's recommendation to abolish discrimination against women in areas such as inheritance and child custody.

In addition, Tunisian authorities have charged journalists and human rights activists in recent months with "public immorality" and "public disorder" to restrict freedom of expression, rights group say.

Not sure if being snarky because...

Quote:
Within hours of last month’s attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya, President Barack Obama’s administration received about a dozen intelligence reports suggesting militants connected to al Qaeda were involved, three government sources said.

Despite these reports, in public statements and private meetings, top U.S. officials spent nearly two weeks highlighting intelligence suggesting that the attacks were spontaneous protests against an anti-Muslim film, while playing down the involvement of organized militant groups.

It was not until last Friday that Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s office issued an unusual public statement, which described how the picture that intelligence agencies presented to U.S. policymakers had “evolved” into an acknowledgement that the attacks were “deliberate and organized” and “carried out by extremists.”

The existence of the early reports appears to raise fresh questions about the Obama administration’s public messaging about the attack as it seeks to fend off Republican charges that the White House failed to prevent a terrorist strike that left a U.S. ambassador and three others dead.

“What we’re seeing now is the picture starting to develop that it wasn’t a problem with the intelligence that was given, it’s what they did with the intelligence that they were given,” Representative Mike Rogers, chairman of the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee, said in an interview on Tuesday.

The Obama administration flat out lied about, yet Obama gets a pass. They refused added protection for the embassy, which had been requested because of other attacks around the world. Obama gets a pass.

This really should be devastating stuff, but it just rolls off Obama's back. I don't really understand it. It is embarrassing that we have to look to the Libyan government for the truth on this issue because our own government is lying to us.

It's easy to understand. I know it's supossed to be a "myth" but when you have the MSM doing everything it can to get Obama re-elected, they aren't going to harp on things like this. Instead we get to hear about Romney putting a dog on the roof of his car or how he may have but not really bullied some kid 40 years ago while in school. People getting killed in Mexico, being mentored by radicals, lying about being the great healer of racial animosity, his Middle East failures, over 8% unemployment...the list goes on... isn't important. Because you know, he's cool. He hangs out with Jay-Z and goes on The View.

It washes off his back for the same reason everything else washes off his back - the press is living in deathly fear that he'll lose. (Except the conservative press, which is living in desperat fear that he'll win).

Therefore, we've got one side ignoring practically everything, and the other side grasping at straws to look for a campaign issue that the mainstream press CAN'T ignore. Given the fact that this embassy thing is being treated by the press as a "bump in the road" as Obama himself called it, and the administration's inability to acknowledge the obvious as if it was simply some minor misunderstanding, I'm not optimistic.

As a result, the campaign itself has become the campaign issue. It's more like we're watching a football game than anything else, with poll scores and who is campaigning in what state and the amount of debate preparation taking more of a spotlight than the fact that gas prices are up $2.00 a gallon or so in the last 4 years, or the attacks on the embassy. Part of that is Romney's fault; he should have been hammering energy from the beginning.

Instead, the campaign has become about Romney's tax return and Obama's mantra about the "same failed policies"; just like I said before, he's campaigning against George W. Bush all over again, and he's getting away with it because the press wants to report on the 2012 Presidential Playoffs, not on the issues.

How is Obama getting a pass? Every major media outlet has covered the issue on multiple occassions.

Alledgedly, he violated his parole.

And yes, you can violate parole by making a movie if not doing so (or if some action that's part of doing so) is part of your parole conditions.

Hah, instead of "Sam" he should have used the shortened term for "Imam" or "Im".

So this is pretty definitive:
