Downloaded this over the weekend and pretty much vegged out on it all day Sunday. I'm impressed and enjoying it.

Any tips on making money? Anyone know of some good Engineer builds? I play solo mostly and will want to take part in PvP stuff.

Most of the money I have has come from crafting. I gather resources almost obsessively, then make stuff and vendor it.

I'll occasionally check the Trading Post to see if I can actually sell something for profit, but the market for most of the stuff I can make is completely broken right now, so vendors account for 90% of my sales.

As for Engineer builds ... I dunno. Based on how squishy I feel in combat, I'd say I'm probably playing my Engineer all wrong.
It's a shame, really. I love the Engineer as a profession, but have been enjoying my Ranger character more.

My list is longer and my play time is shorter.

Anyone still playing this?

There was a lot of hype for this one, and I'm curious to hear from people who played it how it stacks up against other games.

I got bored in my 40's and started looking elsewhere. The pvp was laggy/buggy and the community was non-existant because you're never actually forced to communicate with anyone. The single player storylines were really cool and I enjoyed the platforming elements/discovery, but the game still just felt like a never ending grind of quest hubs just like WoW.

I got a refund.

Still playing, though I do play other stuff as well (single player games mostly).

It's kept my interest longer than SWTOR did is all I can say. The rest is subjective and depends on what you are looking for in a game.

Combat - most PVE combat is quick-paced, other than Veteran and Champion enemies
Exploration
Jumping puzzles/hidden easter eggs
Solo content - 95% percent of the open world and most of the story instances
Group content - a few of the story things are rough without at least a partner; dungeons require grouping
WvW - fun when your server has a decent amount of participation; still some culling issues during large battles
Team pvp - I have yet to get involved in the non-WvW pvp stuff, so I can't comment
Achievements - Tons of different categories of achievements and supposedly there will soon be rewards for these, other than titles and the karma/gold/laurels (all of which are currencies) for dailies
Crafting - pretty easy and the items are actually useful/competitive with drops

I have:
80 Ranger
80 Mesmer
75 Thief
29 Guardian
22 Engineer
19 Warrior
17 Necromancer
7 Elementalist

For some reason after I hit max lvl, I lost almost all interest.

I think the problem is that the game really requires very little if any teamwork, unless you do WvW and even then it's often a zerg cluster **** unless you're part of one of the hardcore WvW guilds.

I thought about trying the game, but I'd already heard that, and that kept me away. The general sentiment is the wheels fall off when you max out.

So after talking with a friend, I logged back into GW2 and putzed around again last night. Leveling up my Ranger.

- Was reminded about all of the technical things that GW2 does SOOOOO much better than any other MMO.
- Was reminded how fun it was to just go and explore the world
- Happily spent 30-45 minutes on a jumping/maze puzzle

I think that the key to having a good time in GW2 is a well organized and run guild. I'm going to focus on trying to find one of those and see what happens.
