I've only ever seen the first one, strangely. I loved it, but I kinda don't want watch (and thus risk disliking) any sequels.

Exactly the above.

I was very skeptical, but I actually really enjoyed 2 and 3. I was impressed with the direction they went with the story and how they came up with new "in camera" tricks for each film. Hoping 4 is good too.

I saw Cabin in the Woods but it already has it owns thread. I enjoyed it.

I also saw Dylan Dog - Dead of Night. I was expecting this to be a horror comedy based on the few trailers I had seen (Superman pushing Josh from Being Human {American version}) around in a shopping cart. It was not. It was like Constantine, supernatural forces detective. But if Constantine was the Ironman of the genre then Dylan Dog was the Ghostrider II of the genre.

Finally I caught H6 - Diary of a Serial Killer. This was in Spanish too. It was very graphic and very, very, very bad. Just don't. Really, don't.

Fright Night (remake) - very good. Best remake in forever more fun than scary per se but I'd strongly recommend.

I also enjoyed the Fright night remake. David Tennant was hilarious.

Apollo 18 - no one can hear you scream in space on 70s shakycam....

Very not scary. Very derpy plot.

Pulse - Based on a Japanese movie. Very scary in the dark, not as scary as seeing the Ring the first time but still I would recommend it as maybe a 8/10 stars type deal. It gets bonus points for Kristen Bell (if I wrote scripts I would literally write a character for her in every movie I wrote) to bump it up to 8.5/10 :D

The Dead - Night of the Living Dead based in Africa. Very slow, very blah. Not scary, not dramatic, almost no dialogue. Avoid it.

Don't be afraid of the dark - I was really excited to see this because Guillermo Del Toro's name was attached. Turns out the scariest part of this movie is the fact that Tom Cruise apparently killed Katie Holmes and reanimated her corpse (seriously, how else do you explain this:)

Spoiler:
Pre-Cruise Holmes:

Post-Cruise Holmes:Image

So anyways, back to the movie. It had typical Del Toro ambiance, lighting and atmosphere but whoever got their hands on this decided to fill it with Critters (now CGI enhanced for 2012!) to no good end.

I was sorely disappointed.

Apartment 143(emergo)

I just finished watching this at lunch. Started it yesterday. In the middle of the day. In my truck. And it still creeped/freaked me out. Well done.

Finally saw cabin in the woods. It was ok. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the right kind of vibe for Halloween in my opinion. Far a Whedon movie I give it a "Meh!" but for a Halloween movie I give it a "Meh."

Genius! Was much more Raimi than Whedon, chunks just felt like Hercules the Legendary Journey.

Scream 4 - I just have a soft spot for this whole franchise. Loved 4 because it was like 1, 2 and 3.

The Shrine

This one is worth it just for the last 20 minutes or so. If the first part of the movie was as good as the last, I'd give it better praise.

Yeah, I watched it as well. Really slow, but like you said, good last 20 min. And hey, it's on streaming, what can you lose? :)

It truly is astounding how MANY movies are released weekly. And how many of them are SO BAD.

The Woman in Black: lookit Harry Potter all growed up and being haunted! Takes a good while to get going but plays like an Edgar Allen Poe story.

Isolation: cows have been genetically modified... To kill! Don't even watch this on a dare. Tom Servo would eat a bullet before suffering through this.

Doghouse: Shawn of the Dead, except funnier, darker and way more awesome! My only regret is not having beer handy.

Monkey's assring is my new favorite phrase.
