You are right it is a very hypothetical situation never to come up where some one in entertainment fails to support Obama and gets harassed for it.

http://www.inquisitr.com/356695/actress ... tt-romney/

We can also go local for teachers harassing students for their support
http://www.wfsb.com/story/19741385/stud ... ryan-shirt

On the matters of personal opinions I dislike Obama politically as much as I dislike Romney, Near every Obama supporter I have met is the ones that really boil my blood. I do not know how they are where you live, but in the Philadelphia area they are incredibly annoying, self righteous, and aggravating.

For accusing someone of having a hard-on by being offended, you sure do you get your panties in a twist if someone takes a swipe at Hollywierd folks.

I like the way the years of hanging out together and being good buddies means we all show each other so much love and respect.

You should see my families Holiday table, poor Elmarnieh almost ruptured his stomach from the gluttony. He just could not let that last lobster bite go to waste.

I do enjoy arguing, and this is the place I go to get my fix of it! :). That being said I do not think I have ever truly disliked anyone on this board, not even the nameless.

Disagree with passionately, why yes, it is fun, who wants to live in an echo chamber. I would rather argue and be snarky with Alize and Farsky then have another agreement with Elmarnieh. Although he and I do differ also (sorry I don't support private ownership of Nuclear weapons!).

Hopefully I will have time to come back latter, but I have to get cracking on peeling potatoes for dinner (hooray for Swedish Meatballs!) and Tomorrow is Halloween.

I would pick a fight with that, but I have a feeling I would loose, I am probably a total lightweight when it comes to drinking.

I'm all about celebrities espousing their political opinions.

I'm also all about choosing to not support their work if they are going to use their wealth and popularity to support a cause I don't agree with.

It has very little, if anything, to do with the specific content of the message. It does, in fact, have everything to do with the fact that I expected Joss Whedon to be smarter than that video demonstrates.

You want to support Obama, that's cool with me.

You want to support Romney, I'm good with that, too.

If you are Joss Whedon and you produce an ad that mindless and invested in pointless rhetoric that flies in the face of fact, I'll be annoyed and probably lament the fact I own more of your film work than any other single producer/writer/director, because I followed your work for being smarter than the kind of idiot who utters that pablum in a PSA.

I'm not mad because Whedon is a Hollywood Liberal.

I'm mad because the guy behind Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog gave us something decidedly unintelligent.

Don't tell me to vote for Romney because he'll speed up the Zombie Apocalypse, even if you are joking. Joss Whedon should be above the muckraking; his PSA should have been a catalog of reasons to vote for Obama, not a list of reasons why Romney is the worst thing possible.

One of the appealing attributes to Joss Whedon was the fact that he hadn't lowered himself into the political sewer.

I honestly hoped he was above this kind of garbage.

I guess I was wrong...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised when someone who can't spell Obama can't spell my handle either. I really don't get why NF has problems with it either.

I understand your point here, and can even sympathize with it a bit. However, I think it really just came down to the fact that Whedon wanted to have fun with it. And pointing out all of the great things about Obama, while rational and uplifting, blah blah blah isn't really "fun". I honestly don't think it's anything more than that.

I disagree.

If I take this seriously, Whedon's commentary reflects a growing illness with the American electoral process I've been trying to get you guys to read about for years. Indeed, right now I cannot figure out of George R.R. Martin is a genius or a hack; but I've recently acquired a near encyclopedic knowledge of all things Westerosi and Merenese. It's not too far removed from now.

So, I expressed my displeasure with a pointed economic comment. I'm obviously a Whedon fan. It's obviously a bit over the top. And it's not exactly something I'd reasonably do, given my propensity to have boxes that have 4 address labels on them ... for one person. Postage page and ... still not actually handed over to the USPS ...

I love Whedon's fictions. I like his scripts, plotting, characters, and think he has good and bad points. But it's a fun ride.

Hell, I even chuckled at the PSA, for a lot of reasons, namely the whole ... we're kind of headed that direction as it is. I'm vociferously opposed to the current state of the American ruling class: I think they need a wake-up call of the most extreme variety. 90% of the eligible population votes and 100% of offices change owners, at a minimum.

What I don't like about the ad though ... is Whedon is smart enough to make something positive funny. It didn't need to be a negative spot.

Why yes I have some spelling problems, partially dyslexia, partially getting used to using this kindle. So if grammar is you only defense then your argument is weak as usual. I may not want Romney to win, but I sure want Obama to loose for the tears of his believers.

I think a poltical process driven solely by the premise: "that other guy is a tool, let's all laugh." Is a political process on par with either Jersey Shore hook-ups or a senior prom court election.

It's **** disgusting. People are falling further and further from the American dream and neither candidate has the sack to step up and present a real plan to fix it. Instead let's make funny bits, tell zingers and drop a soundbite for the evening news. Don't forget to swing by the Late Show on your way to the Daily Show to yuck it up! Oh and the missus has to be on Good Morning America tomorrow to talk about who designed her dress...

Won't happen. The ruling class has successfuly disenfranchised 50% - 60% of the eligible population. We can vote, but there's nothing to vote for. The ballot can not bring change.

Well, ok, I know this, because I've said as much at least too many times to count reasonably. That doesn't change the fact that ...

The only hope for change rests with people too apathetic to make things different. Smallfolk and their bread, circuses, and mummers.
