The biggest joke in that big picture is that they called the KFHD a media device iPad mini a computing device. ROFL. iPad has always been nothing more than a media consumption device.

This was among my thoughts as well.

Android fanbois are funny when they troll Apple product threads with devices of inferior quality.

As for computing devices: I'm currently using an iPad to run electronic design software. That is, in fact, a computing device.

I laid out my kitchen on our iPad. And did the spreadsheet budgeting on it. And use Good for work email & ppt & word.

It's not as capable as my laptop for key entry tasks, but its not just a media viewer.

So... An IPad is like a TI-94?

According to that very article, they already have.

It's interesting that there is no mention of "Stereo" in regards to the speakers on the product tech specs page (as of two minutes ago)

It's all a silly moot point. If you care what your tablet sounds like, you're going to plug in speakers, and there is no doubt that the output jack is stereo.

Edit: Looking at Amazon.com, the comparison seems to have been taken down. It's all water under the bridge at this point. They got more attention from that ad than they could have ever hoped for.

After the utter disappointment of the Kindle Fire HD, I went ahead and placed a pre-order for the cellular-capable Mini. It should arrive Friday (it's currently in the amusingly-named locale of Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong).

What plan did you end up going with, Farsky?

I'm thinking about picking one up as well. Was going to do a month-by-month 250mb plan, but it looks like AT&T will give a nice discount on the device with a recurring contract at the 250 mb size.

I start and stop my plan pretty frequently...I went with Verizon ('cause AT&T doesn't have 4G here; plus, my iPhone is on AT&T, so I figure that between the two, I might be able to maintain signal even at my parents' house in BFE, Alabama). I never go over 2GB, though.

I mostly want something for constant e-mail availability and occasional GPS for the times when I'm off wireless, which isn't too often.

That and traveling.
