Not who do you want to win, but who do you think will win?

The establishment will win the election. The American people will continue to lose.

Here's the thing about this election.

Obama is the first black president. It would be exceedingly embarrassing to the black community if he didn't win reelection. Only a party composed entirely racists would want to do that. Mitt Romney is racist simply for running against Barack Obama. In fact, he's even more racist than John McCain, because where McCain simply tried to prevent black achievement in the first place, Romney is actively trying to undo black progress.

A Republican victory in November is the absolute worst thing that could happen to the party. It would be absolutely devastating. Republicans would no longer be able to argue that they have equality as their core interest, because they would have taken away the first black president. Freeing slaves and ending segregation are simply the actions of long-dead historic figures who have nothing to do with the Republican party. The GOP of today are vicious racists who really do want to see all black folk back in chains.

If Romney wins, within twenty to thirty years there won't be a Republican party. They will dissolve as everyone decides they're too racist to receive any more votes. The Democrats will split in half so that the United States feels like it has a choice in elections.

Republicans now have to decide whether you'd rather have Romney as president, or see the party die. It sucks, but that's just the hand you've been dealt.

Indeed. In fact, this statement should probably be in the past tense.

"The establishment has won the election. The American people have lost."

The Republicans have this thing locked up. The simple question of "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" has completely overshadowed the question of "will you be better off four years from now?"

I honestly feel like it's to close to know. Last election it was pretty clear McCain didn't have much chance against Obama.

Up until the economy crapped out, McCain was leading. McCain stopped his campagin and Obama kept swinging.

SO how will the election play out. It could be interesting to see. 8 states have and DC have passed the law that gives their electoral college votes to the winner of the National Popular vote.
The total electoral college vote to the winner of the popular vote is 132.

Not necessarily. Those 132 votes could all go to the loser of the popular vote depending how those votes are apportioned among the populace.

no they can't, those states passed laws that give the winner of the National popular vote the electoral college votes for that state.
only 2 states have proportional electoral college votes Maine and Nebraska.
Oddly enough it's all blue states that passed this law.
This could very well turn into unintended consequences.

I don't think he ever had a chance. It was a perfect storm where no matter who you put up against Obama he was going to win. The only person who had a chance of beating him was Hillary Clinton. Given a choice between the two I would have actually taken her.

Washington State is a "Winner-Take-All" state. 11 Electoral votes guaranteed to Obama and the blues, despite the fact that the state is mostly red geographically. The Seattle/Tacoma/Everett metro area always carries the majority of the vote. Apple farmers and the central and eastern portion of the state, have no chance.

Which is why the EC needs to not be WTA.

Washington is is A national popular vote state.
On April 28, 2009 — Governor Chris Gregoire signed the National Popular Vote bill, making Washington state the fifth state to join the "Agreement Among the States to Elect the President by National Popular Vote." Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, and New Jersey previously enacted the National Popular Vote bill.

And we have 12 Electoral votes now. I was obviously reading outdated info.

We'll see I guess...

Unfortunately, no. And if you stop to think, you'll realize more people in the country actually do think that way than you're really comfortable with.

Not enough for that absurd scenario to actually occur.
