So, to quote Tom T. Hall from his song listed earlier,

"I do not care for whiskey, women, or the loot."

the protagonist of the song, the cowboy philosopher being question, replies

"Sir, you are a liar."

Well, you may believe what you said now, so you aren't actually lying per se. However, as time goes on, you will find

- that you want more money and nicer things in your life
- that girls have been taught they can fall in love with a rich man just as easy as a poor man, and live a lot better with the rich man, and
- that continuous availability without independent wealth - for women - equates to the guy being a major loser and a waste of their time. Usually, women will respect a guy busting his buns to make his way, and just use the guy who is always there and available.
- that any girl worth having wants a man they can respect.

Women are most attracted to men who have an inner confidence that is not attached to material wealth. The inner confidence can be built over years by chasing women. A man who chases women will have far more success with women than a man who chases money.


I do, but only if earning it is enjoyable. I feel like I am building sandcastles on the beach when everyone else gets to run around and have fun.

This is true.

"Continuous availability" is different than a guy who actively goes after girls. The latter becomes very good at talking to them and is finely attuned to their emotions and can make them laugh. He has inner confidence. He doesn't sit on his couch and watch tv.

That's true. Guys who go after what they want are respectable.
